Dahlia can’t help but grip the basket tighter, the instincts he has so carefully kept under lock and key threatening to peek through. He can feel his canines dig into the soft flesh of his bottom lip, his own blood staining his tongue.
He stifles a choked noise. His own blood does nothing to sate the forbidden hunger, if anything, it makes the demon in him scream louder.
Feed. Feed. Feed.

Dorian pushed himself off the chair with a feral desperation, uncaring at the pain that shot up his arm. He put every ounce of strength into closing the gap between them, tears rolling down his cheeks as he threw his right arm around the archon.
“Venti,” Dorian whispered against the other’s cheek brokenly, his hand threading into the Anemo Archon’s hair to make sure it wasn’t another pain-induced hallucination that had plagued him the first few days after Decarabian's fall. “You're back.”

Venti sputtered, his face turning a pretty shade of Anemo-teal. “Y-you can’t just say that!”
“It’s true, though.” Dorian scooted closer, and Venti’s wing wrapped around him. “It wouldn’t be home without you and everything you’ve done to make it so.”
The archon groaned. “See, you just say things like that and my heart melts. How do you do it?”
Dorian chuckled, threading his hand with Venti’s once more and watching the sun set along the horizon of the ocean. “You just have to find the right source of inspiration.” He poked Venti on the nose playfully. “Like a little wisp of wind.”
