The man’s cheeks flushed, blinking rapidly as if embarrassment was something new for him.
“I am Ilya. Rozanov. I play for the Boston Raiders, my face is plastered all over the city– sorry. This was rude of me to assume.” The man– Ilya– said sheepishly.
“I guess I haven’t been far enough into the city,” Shane muttered, most of his focus on dabbing at the stain on his Reebok undershirt.
“You are new here? Maybe I can… show you around?”

After being forced to quit hockey in juniors, Shane becomes a model. He avoids the hockey world until 2017, when he has a run in with Ilya Rozanov. Shane is out as gay and Ilya has already cut his ties with Russia, but that doesn't make things any easier for them.

“Simon?” Grace tries out the name, the syllables rolling of his tongue. To his surprise, Simon looks up. He looks scared and confused, regardless of how harsh his bark may come off or unnatural his eyes are. Grace longs to help him.
“Can you c’mere, please? So I can show you proof I’m not lying to you?” Grace asks with a new wave of patience. Simon looks away and doesn’t move, choosing to glare at the wall.
“I don’t bite,” Grace reassures.
“What if I do?” Simon warns, tone too soft to be threatening.
Grace sits down with a grunt, crisscrossed on the floor from where he stood with the laptop settled on his lap.
“Then that’s a risk I’ll just have to take.”

Jesper Fahey was not a coward, he was trying to convince himself. The sign on the door of The Bird Bar read that it was closed, yet a minute earlier he had seen a red-headed figure walk straight in. He didn’t know if the person was an employee there, but he did know that the man was pretty, and his hair looked soft and easily tussled. He had wondered if he could get to know him. Whether it was another situation where he just knew he was meant to meet this person, even if it was just for a short time. He’d explained it once to Nina, and she had said something along the lines of “oh, like if your life is a tv show and one of the side characters from a season ago becomes a main character”. That wasn’t remotely close, but he had agreed for the sake of it.
