Summary
The room tilted slightly, and Shane’s throat was raw.
He swayed there a moment, scanning the spinning room for somewhere to steady himself – for Haas or Dykstra. Ilya had been right; he should have slowed down, stayed with his teammates. He hadn't listened, and now he was alone, 2 Moscow Mules and 3 shots deep, stuck at the bar and lost in a sea of people.
Shane just wanted his husband. The alcohol hadn't yet done anything to alleviate the effects of the music and lights that encircled him. He felt trapped – suffocated – like his skin was fusing itself to his stiff muscles. The room spun faster, and the Canadian wasn't convinced he was standing upright anymore. His heart pounded in his ears as the music rattled his ribcage once more, an insatiable itch beckoning his blunt fingernails.
He wanted to scream. He wanted to rip his hair out. He wanted to tear his clothes off.
He wanted Ilya.
“Selfish,” he muttered under his breath, tongue heavy as it touched his teeth.

“Not uncommon? Who do you know that was getting women pregnant on accident?” Ilya questions. “Guys on Montreal? You know they are stupid. Oh my god, Pike,” Ilya laughs. “As much as I joked, I thought they were doing it on purpose! Or maybe most on purpose, just not first, or—”
"Ilya, oh my god, Hayden didn’t have any kids by accident!” Shane groans, burying his face in his hands. “He wasn’t being irresponsible. He’s more responsible than me, I guess.”
OR:
Ilya learns that Shane got a girlfriend pregnant once. Which makes no fucking sense. Right?

But he always had this deep concern that after a bad game, when all eyes were on him, and people were just searching for anything they could to turn people against him, he would find something about him and Ilya—he even had nightmares about it.

welcome to my alive gabriel goodman au!
everything's pretty similar to the n2n canon (with the london cast in mind), except that gabe survives. diana and dan managed to find doctors that caught the obstruction in time to save gabe's life, but not quick enough to leave him entirely unscatched. gabe struggles with chronic illness symptoms daily, including extreme abdominal pain, low blood pressure, headaches and migraines, dizziness, shakiness, etc. which in turn leads to the canon of natalie being left out by her parents often.
natalie is born, not to replace gabe this time, and they're the best siblings. henry is still your lovable stoner. dan still struggles with ignoring gabe sometimes and dealing with his son. diana still struggles with bipolar.
this will mostly just be a bunch of oneshots surrounding the characters in this universe! hope you enjoy <3

Ilya’s hand wraps around his bare wrist and squeezes. Shane barely stops himself from collapsing to his knees.
The pressure lights up every receptor of his touch-starved nervous system, wrenching a small, pained noise from the back of his throat. Every muted sensation comes flooding back so intensely that it almost hurts. He needs Ilya to hold him down until there’s nothing inside him but quiet. He wants to sink into him and disappear.
It takes Shane an entire beat to remember where they are. Fighting against the fog in his mind, he manages to drag his gaze up to meet Ilya’s.
There’s a slow-dawning horror and understanding on Ilya’s face.
