Summary
“Listen ta me, 'kay? Never trust a Giver. Ya see someone use those strange lil' magic tricks of theirs, ya call me, and I will take care of 'em. Zanka, do ya understand?”
Zanka had known what his sister meant, even back then. He had been no stranger to violence—he had grown up in it, even, bearing his father's punishments, his mother's training, his brother's sword and fists, and his sister’s bullets. If a Giver had outed themselves in front of Zanka when he was a child, he would have gone running to Kyouka, and would have taken them for interrogation and then killed them.
“Yea'! I promise!” He had chirped, and Kyouka—serius, formidable, untouchable Kyouka—had smiled down at him, running a hand through his hair to tuck it behind his ear and then, to Zanka's absolute shock, pressing a kiss to his forehead.
“Good. Do not disappoint me.”
Or,
Zanka Nijiku is going to change. He has to. He really, really has to—but.

Summary
Jabber rushes forward, following the pull in his gut and using Mankira's eagerness as a pointing arrow, finally coming out of an alley and into the local food market. There are quite a bit of people here, the high prices deterring a good part of the Ground from approaching, but also calling people from all corners to come get their healthy stuff. Jabber giggles, thinking that of course Zanka, princely and expensive-looking as he was, ate vegetables regularly.
He ambles around, not minding the wide berth most people give him. He's not in his Raider uniform, having replaced it for baggy black pants, a long neon pink shirt with Hero Killer’s logo on it, and an unzipped purple hoodie, but he supposes the constant giggling and the off-putting vibes went even beyond the mark of his occupation. That's what Momoa said, anyway. It's not like it mattered—Zanka liked him this way, matching him maddened thought for crazed action.
And then nothing matters, because he finds Zanka.
With someone else.
Or,
Jabber Wonger wants a painful brawl, Zanka Nijiku wants Jabber Wonger, and Riyo Reaper wants Zanka to be happy. -

Summary
“I—can ya hear me, dude?” Zanka surely wasn't enough of an asshole to ogle the guy and not notice he was hard of hearing, right? Fuck, how long has Zanka been talking at him? Did he remember any of his sign language? ”Fuck, what—”
“Fuck!?” The guy's eyes pop open wide, limbs flailing around like a fish out of water. Horror creeps up Zanka's face in a wave of pink heat. “Man, the hell, this ain't that kinda place—!”
“That's not what I—!” Zanka tries to defend himself, frantically.
“Or at least, not at this time! Whoring hours start at eleven p.m., got it?” The guy suddenly settled, back to his cheery, easygoing self. “Ten on weekends!”
Zanka stares, out of breath and a great amount of his already limited supply of fucks.
“...ya were fuckin' with me on purpose.”
Or,
Zanka Nijiku, the weirdest day of his life, and the weirdest guy he has ever met. And also maybe love. But defnitely violence. -

He smiles at him, Zanka. All teeth as he lifts his chin higher, steps closer, looks right into his eyes as he announces, slowly and sharply:
“Mind yer own damn business, you weird-ass lookin' nobody.”

Summary
In Zanka’s mind, his sister’s neutral stare was seared like a brand, the hot-white pain of it impossible to ignore, making everything painful and uncomfortable, making him feel helpless, vulnerable, brittle as ice.
Until that afternoon.
Zanka had taken one of the new recruits aside to check for himself exactly what his cup Vital Instrument could do (pocket dimension, the answer was pocket dimension, why was Zanka saddled with all the natural geniuses?) when he had heard the panicked screaming and the barely-contained giggles that made up a song he knew by heart.
For the first time since being face-to-face with Kyouka, Zanka had felt like a person. Alive. With purpose.
So he had gone and done what he did best: fight the Raider’s pain junkie until one of them dropped half-dead.
Or,
Zanka wants everything, and Jabber gets everything.

Summary
Living well is the best revenge, so they say. In Jake's quiet fury at the dismissive, heartless way everyone spoke of his brother's death and the complete lack of empathy he found at every turn and corner, he decides to find a way to live the best life he can possibly conceive, with the opportunity Tommy left behind for him: a fresh start on a new world... just not exactly the way the RDA vultures meant.
(In which Jake Sully pulls the ultimate con on every person who failed to treat his brother's memory with respect, and every person who failed to be kind to their fellow man.)
