"You're really cold," Edd mumbles.
"Yeah, that's why I got closer," Tord replies. He fiddles awkwardly with his hands. His movements are a little clumsy, like he doesn't quite have a firm grasp on his motor skills.
Edd drapes an arm around him, pulling him even closer and adjusting the blanket he has on his lap to cover the both of them.
"Are you sure you want me this close?" Tord asks quietly. "I mean, I could still be a threat-"
"Nonsense," Edd interrupts him. "You've given me no reason to think so."

Summary
If there's one thing to know about Tord, it's that he really, really can't handle intimacy. It's like he's a bomb designed to explode upon contact with affection.
And well, Edd knows this by now, obviously. He thinks it's cute how sensitive he is, how quickly overstimulated he gets by the smallest touch and some sweet words. It's not just emotional, either, he's incredibly physically sensitive to the point that it doesn't take much to get him overwhelmed.

The night air is freezing, and an eerie silence hangs almost tauntingly as Quackity stands atop the balcony of the Las Nevadas needle, face to face with someone he holds very dear and who he knows is very upset with him.
He shivers a little, the frigid atmosphere offering little in the way of comfort as his thoughts race aimlessly. He draws his wings into himself, shielding him from the cold like a blanket.
The way Slime looks at him makes his heart physically ache. He wants nothing more than to go in and hug him close and cry that he's okay, he's alive, but he can't – he knows he's fucked up badly and he can't blame Slime for being cross with him. If the roles were reversed, he would be, too.

"It's getting cold out," Travis says, leaning against some crates stacked up in the corner of Sun Whale's warehouse.
It's an observation any of the three could have made, but he feels like he should say it anyways. Winter had snuck up quickly, leaving Sun Whale completely unprepared. Not that winter's an emergency by any means, but business slows down and equipment has to be brought in to avoid damage from frost. Just a hassle overall.

The door suddenly slams open, and Berd and Jawsh are jolted out of their argument. Jawsh swears he can hear his ears ringing, and considers (just for a moment) writing a letter of resignation.

As much as James would love to ignore the elephant in the room and just let his confusing feelings fester, he does have to admit that Poke is actually pretty important to him.
They're friends, after all, best friends. The kind of best friend that drives you crazy and you just want to smack upside the head occasionally but you'd never be able to live without.
But Poke's also the kind of best friend that keeps you up at night for hours just staring up at the ceiling and thinking and James doesn't like that. The kind of best friend you have to think a little too hard about how you'd describe what you are to them if forced.

She's really glad hits aren't actually public, since if he knew she was baiting him he'd have given up and left by now. Technically, she hadn't intended to lie to him, a spectator had just asked about who her target was and she made something up on the spot. But comms are public, so Cooper saw that and took it as fact, and here they are now.

Cooper's job is surprisingly simple given its scale. He slouches in his chair back at the ACC headquarters, watching the lava flow down the wall across from him - observing the way it bubbles up and pops.
It should be simple, at least - everyone wants to be happy, after all. Except…
