It's just that—nothing has ever.” He abruptly pauses, wrinkling his nose to reconfigure his thought pattern while he stares at the ceiling of the ship and makes a vague hand gesture through the air. His blood capillaries are still dilated but not as obscenely as before. “Nobody has ever…y’know? Gosh, why is it so hard to talk about this right now?”
Simultaneous surprise and arousal hit Rocky like twin bolts of frenetic lightning. He would almost break out into joyous song if that didn’t feel slightly inappropriate in light of Grace’s burning bashfulness. “Oh, Rocky understand now,” he gently cuts in. “Grace is a virgin.”

Apparently a dragon had been seen, flying across the Narrow Sea from Myr, crossing over the Stormlands and seemed to be on course for. Well. Them. Here, in the Reach, in some nowhere castle in some nowhere meadow, as his brother Maekar so lovingly put it.
If finding a rare Omega in the middle of nowhere wasn't enough to catch Baelor's attention, then surely a giant fire breathing dragon landing in the middle of the meadow would be.

Zoochosis refers to the patterns of behavior noted across many species in response to prolonged isolation within a cramped, unchanging environment. It often presents in the form of repetitive movements or vocalizations ranging from benign to self-destructive. Frequently performed without the subjects input nor knowledge.
Many humans have theories regarding widespread zoochosis symptoms amongst sentient life on their planet. Some mentioning crowding zoochosis, in which said symptoms presented due to overcrowded conditions and a lack of dynamic environment.
Eridians did not. The hum of the planet itself was never far from perception even in the space elevator. And the sound of other Eridians was a constant, ever changing comfort. No one from Erid was ever truly alone.

“What do you think?” Rocky snapped. “You did not tell me about this! So imagine my surprise when I learned that Grace has been courting—and being courted by—some random Eridian you picked up off the streets!”
He pushed himself upright, stomping angrily around the room while Adrian simply watched.

Still, twenty-four to forty-eight hours of a Shōta unable to filter his thoughts? Saying and doing what he truly feels instead of suppressing it?
Hizashi doesn’t think bracing themselves is going to be enough.

To be simple—the Collective were so very, very close to defeating death completely—but then the astrophage began to devour the sun, and the planet began to become deathly cold, and death started dancing so very, very close to the futures of the planet’s dwellers.
But death found the crew—death warped the crew’s bodies—death forced the sole survivor to deposit the corpses into the relentless ocean of space, and to wait forever for the whispers to resume.

Rocky does his best to keep Grace alive on the journey home to Erid. He comes very, very close to failing—but recognizes the only thing he can do to fix the weird space blob who's basically his only connection to reality at this point.
Ryland Grace's body can be replaced.
Ryland Grace's body doesn't need to survive—but his brain does.
Following Grace's very very dubious consent to whatever Rocky's doing, Rocky does his very best to save the saviour of the stars—and it works. Cue the chaos and recovery.
