  Of course. Of course this school had corners that felt designed to trap him. The sandstone seemed to lean inward, the air growing heavier, thick enough to taste.

  “Ha.”

  His voice cracked into a pathetic, shaky laugh. Sarcastic. Hollow.
  Then—

  A voice slid through the air like a blade dipped in honey.
  “Running again, haven’t you already tried that trick before Olito?”
