"what's-"
"ohhh, chocobo down!" unbeknownst to lux, who is gently turning the feather in his hands, the man is smirking widely. "now that, that i definitely can recommend. works for everyone, makes you a fresh chocobo!"
"oh, i can't- that's not really a sample thing, is it. do you have a, a sample tray, or-" but the owner just shakes his head and pushes his paw closed.
"no, i think that's perfect for you." he grins. "give it a try! i bet you'll end up making me enough money after to cover it, that's how great i think it's gonna be."

dirge blinks.
"you know this lordling?" minthara quirks an eyebrow.
"i... hm." it's unnerving to be at a loss for words as a bard. for once the urges are silent, leaving a dull ringing in their skull. something in gortash's face darkens, though they can't put their finger on what. he steps off his dias, reaching out to gesture something, only to fall still when dirge turns their head to look at lae'zel. "not yet, zel."
"i'm more capable of holding my blade in its sheath than you are, scaleskin-"
"where are your frills?" gortash's voice sounds strange. distant.
dirge reaches up to touch the short, soft quills on the back of their head. like always, it aches a little to put pressure on them. for the first time, they wonder if that's strange. "what?"
"your frills. the scale-hair." the lordling steps closer, gesturing in the air. "the cords went down to your waist, long, shining strands of bronze. they flared brilliantly in your rages."
