Sirius Black has never met a silence he didn’t want to fill with a bad joke, a cigarette, or a questionable hookup.
Remus Lupin, on the other hand, studies silences like they’re something sacred—catalogues them, respects them, knows when to leave them alone.Sirius is grieving. Or maybe just aggressively not-grieving. He’s tired, a little unhinged, probably smells like lavender-scented mold, and trying (sort of) to tick off a self-improvement list that mostly reads like someone shouted “healing” into a Pinterest board.
Then there’s Remus: tall, annoyingly clever, half-thrifted academic boy who smells like lemons and has zero patience for Sirius' rich-boy nihilism.
This is a story about grief, group counseling, guilt, weird eye contact, sweaty concerts, mildew apartments, and two idiots who share a bit too much trauma. Summary
Sirius Black loves Remus Lupin. Remus Lupin loves Sirius Black. Neither of them know. Both are idiots.
Every Valentine's day the single Marauders go on the pull to find someone to go home with; only, for the last 2 of those years, things have changed for Sirius, and he's found himself more and more drawn to his bestie and flatmate, Remus. It's confusing and probably unrequited and any hope he has that it isn't is thwarted on the the big v day when Sirius is passed over on the pull for a stranger.
So he, Mary and Peter agree to go on 1 date a week for the next year to improve their exposure to the dating scene and hopefully pair up before the next Valentines Day, but the dating world is cut throat and miserable. Sirius burns out quickly, but lucky for him, he has his erstwhile best mate to come home to to unpack the fuckery of modern dating.
Never mind that he's also the love of his life. That's definitely not going to come into the story at all. Right?

Everyone who was not in Gryffindor must lack some intrinsic qualities which would therefore make them utterly intolerable as companions. And the Marauders - all three of them - did not need any intolerable fourths, thank you very much.

When James Potter inherits his father’s game reserve in South Africa and spends a few months there learning the ropes of the business, of course Sirius has to follow him. When Sirius accompanied his best friend to Frystmark for the annual council, he expected to be very bored and very cold while his royal friends did...whatever it was they did for their yearly meetings. That expectation was utterly destroyed within a few days of arriving, when three things occurred entirely out of his control:
1. He met Remus, the exceptional (and exceptionally freckled) prince of Frystmark
2. He learned to ice skate on a frozen lake
3. The city was attacked, sending him and his six new friends on a wild chase across the continent with assassins on their tail and a quest for a magic dagger dangling ahead, all because the terrible honor of killing an unkillable king fell into their laps. It's just saving the world, after all. No pressure.

They were fucked, Sirius knew it, he just didn’t want to admit it because it was his foolishness that got them here in the first place. Here, in the middle of nowhere with no phone signal, completely and utterly lost.
or; sirius and james get lost on a hiking trip and are rescued by remus lupin, a handsome young farmer from a nearby village. sirius and remus fall for each other hard. they both have problems, both are oblivious and both are hopeless but somehow they manage to make it work and as it turns out, they meet each other at just the right time. also, james is utterly ridiculous.
