Contrary to popular belief, Jake Seresin loves hard and he loves easy. There are a handful of exes who he’s on amicable terms with, who speak nothing but praise even with the realities of the Navy. His friends – non-military for the most part – are constant in his stories, and his leaves are filled with catching up from state to state.

Summary
For Bradley, it starts with the accident.
Somehow, he lands the plane, his muscle memory taking over as his mind crashes with Hangman to the ground. The rest of their classmates are standing on the tarmac, a few because they’re worried and most because they’re looking for a show. Bradley doesn’t have time for either.
Or: Hangman gets in an accident while they're still at Top Gun. It changes nothing, except that it kind of does.

The surviving members of the 101st sit in the chapel as the children's choir sings, sisters walking around to benefit the exhausted and wounded.
All Babe can do for the moment is sit and soak it all in. Watch the choir, observe his fellow men, think about anything and everything.
What he can't do, however, is keep his focus on the present.OR: babe has an epiphany (several of them) about their medic, eugene roe, and thinks he's slick with it. that is, until roe starts to catch him staring from across the chapel.
