On the east side of Sumeru Mall, there was the only Hot Topic for miles, which attracted customers near and far. They came not only for the fashion, but for the stoic manager whose mere gaze made people faint out of fear or overwhelming affection. The only downside to the store was its small size.
And just on the other side of the walkway? There was Avidya-Gandharva Florists (AGF for short) who attracted less customers but had dedicated regulars. These regulars came not only for the most beautiful flower arrangements known to Teyvat, but for manager’s radiant smile that filled customers with an unreplicable warmth.
The two managers follow the masses, and can’t help falling in love, with the October wind on their backs.

“You’re not just saying that because Tighnari suggested it, right?” he questions.
Collei lowers the spoon and shakes her head vehemently. “No, of course not!” she exclaims. “I — I like my homeschooling with Tighnari, and he’s always very patient and kind when he teaches me, but it’s… well… I just…” She glances down towards the table, fidgeting with her hands. “I think it’d be nice. To go to school. I never really got to do that before — before everything.”
‘Everything’ is a word far too small to encompass all of Collei’s everything, Cyno thinks.

Something is different from usual. Tighnari senses it immediately, and so it doesn’t come as a surprise when Cyno crosses the distance between them before Tighnari can so much as open his mouth. Cyno collides into him with enough force that Tighnari staggers back a step from the impact, but he catches his balance quickly. Arms have wound themselves around his waist, trapping his arms at his sides and his tail against his back.

The Matra’s brows furrowed, nothing more, but it seemed to be nothing short of a pout to Tighnari. “It was the… favourable option. To keep you in the dark, so you wouldn’t yell, as you are right now.”
“Well I’m yelling now.” Tighnari said, helpfully. “Every time you depart for the Akademiya again, what do I ask of you?”
“...be safe.”
“Have you ever heeded my advice?”

Tighnari could hear him shuffling around the medicine table, completely unbothered by Tighnari’s lack of attention. Bottles clinked against wood and Tighnari’s ears twitched in annoyance at the sound. Glass was great for keeping medication stable, but that noise was irritating.
“What are you doing here? Aren’t you in exile, do you want to be arrested?” Tighnari broke the silence with a final swipe of the ink brush over the report, and finally turned to Cyno.
“It’s self-imposed exile. Don’t you have a mechanical life form in the corner of your room? Do you want to be arrested?” Cyno asked back, a single raised eyebrow giving away his pride at having a comeback. He placed the glass bottle back down, giving Tighnari an apologetic look when his ears flattened at the sharp noise.
Visits between the desert and the forest are few and far between, but that makes it no less special.
