Summary
"Lando." Oscar sighed. He took one tentative step closer to Lando, trapping him between the fence and a hard gaze. "You're a sweet kid, really. You're bright and funny and charming. Undeniably good-looking, of course, and I'd be lying if I said I hadn't noticed that."
That smile from earlier etched its way back onto his face, and Lando reached out to touch Oscar. Fingertips brushing over bare forearms, and oh, Oscar's skin was so warm. "I'd be lying if I said I don't like hearing that," he replied cheekily, tilting his head back against the fence to look up at Oscar.
"But."
"No buts." Desperately, Lando's hands reached further up, clawing into Oscar's shirt and pulling him closer. "We don't need buts. You fancy me, I fancy you, this is perfect!"
Oscar resisted the pull. Grabbed Lando's wrists in two gentle but firm holds and pulled the hands away from his shoulders. "Unfortunately, there are buts whether you need them or not, Lando. You're very sweet, and I really appreciate this, but I'm 38 years old, kid. And how old are you again?"
"22, but what does that matter?"

Summary
“No charm,” Max repeated, as if clarifying a posted sign. “No performances.”
Charles’s tone shifted — still polite, suddenly exact. “You’re used to sincerity that plays well. Here it has to hold up when no one’s watching.”
Oscar Piastri is a forensic journalist who built a career finding the rot behind beautiful structures — because his father’s celebrated building taught him that anything impressive is hiding a failure point. Sent to Shetland to profile Lando Norris, the engineering prodigy scapegoated for a catastrophic test crash, Oscar expects a story. He finds a man who has traded headlines for grease-stained hands, a penance paid in silence, and a village that operates like a human shield around him.
To earn a single honest conversation, Oscar must first unlearn everything London taught him about extracting truth from people. Stay on the painted line. Eat what’s put in front of you. Don’t write down people who don’t want to be written down. And learn that some truths can only be built, never taken.
A slow-burn romance about two men who communicate through toast, tools, and the careful grammar of not breaking what you’re trying to hold.

Summary
“I can’t believe this keeps happening.” Lando says, once Oscar’s sat back against the headboard. “I’ve never even had one sex injury before, and now we’re on the third.”
Oscar smiles gravely. “We’ll get it right next time.” He says.
“I’m a little scared of what else we could injure next time.” Lando mumbles.
“Don’t be.” Oscar says. “I’m kind of determined to get it right, now. Against all the odds and shit.”
