Summary
An artificial fullness, an artificial release. Breathing shapes inside the wide hard tube he called a torso. He felt like a door in a desert. Wooden and thoughtless but maybe significant in some other, far away context. Knock. ₖₙₒcₖ. knock. Knocking him down was a sudden, singular breathed air current, which left him rolling, rolling, limbless, breathless, sightless in the dark surface underneath him; boundless and bare.
Then
a smell.
His flat, featureless face was able to smell something almost like flesh. But it wasn’t flesh, was it. No.
Thick smoke pressed him down like a blanket. Grey and intimate. Maybe he was a flower petal pressed between pages, later to be nailed to a book and incorrectly labelled.
“ ̶gr̶̳̿͟͞αη̶t̶̳̿͟͞ .“
*Kinger is dragged through the familiar terrors of captivity, stripped of autonomy in his own psyche.
Queenie is there, like a lucent anchor.

Charlie's rehabilitation program is in full swing, and Angel is made to attend lectures and therapy for his own betterment.
Trying to balance the complete dichotomy of his racy, peccable work life and the righteous ways of the hotel is more difficult than he thought, but he's trying harder than he'd like to admit- if not for the hope of rehabilitation, then simply for self-preservation.
Alastor's involvement in the lectures is minute, but because of his own muddle, he finds himself dwelling at the bar during and after the presentations much more than usual.
Following the resolution of some conflict, Angel's own visits at the bar grow as well...

It’s Angel’s birthday, and Husk, after many much needed mental tornadoes and self-loathing at the first hand embarrassment of feeling the need to do anything for this new (and so very unlikely) friend, strongly believes that the birthday boy in question deserves an evening off.
…In other words, he uses his savings to book his ‘services’ for a whole evening and night, but not for what you might be thinking…
