“We see each other every day” Donghyun stars, turning around to fully face Dongmin, “I know you are not here to see me” he affirms with emphasis on the word, squinting at him and letting the back of his hips hit the sink before mirroring Dongmin's posture and crossing his arms as well.
Dongmin tilts his head to the side, taking in Donghyun’s face. It’s truly otherworldly how he manages to look more beautiful every time Dongmin sees him. The very little restraint he still had is gone in a second, and frankly, he doesn’t have a lot of time to spare, so he pushes himself off the wall.
“Well…” he begins, taking the couple of steps that separate him from his lover, “I do have other intentions…”

He was nearly done with it when he heard Donghyun’s voice coming down the hallway “Babe, I had an idea!”.
“What is it?” Dongmin asked, lifting his head to look at him. Donghyun was standing just outside the kitchen, hair wet and sticking to his forehead, cheeks flushed because of the hot shower, a towel tied low over his hips and a sleeping mask in one of his hands. Dongmin raised a playful eyebrow. “Oh, are you feeling freaky?” he asked smugly, smiling and wiping his hands on a towel. Donghyun rolled his eyes. “At least let me shower as well” he added with a playful tone, turning the stove off and moving closer to him.
“No, babe! You only think about that!” Donghyun retorted, annoyed. “I thought we could do a blind taste test. That would be fun, right?” he added, lifting the sleep mask up.

“Oh, my god! It’s raining??” Jaehyun turned his head to look out the window and then back at Sanghyuk “You didn’t need to come under pouring rain, Sanghyuk-ah!”. Jaehyun pushed the door open, properly taking in the sight of him. On his way here the plan really was to hand over the nail polishes and go home, take a warm shower and be done with this day, but he felt weirdly at ease here and responded with “Are you gonna let me in or not?”
“Yes! Come in!” Jaehyun said, moving aside so Sanghyuk could step into the apartment. “Oh, my god! What were you thinking?” he added.
No one likes to be scolded, that’s for sure, but Sanghyuk was enjoying the worried tone in his voice, it made him feel cared for, cherished. “It’s just rain, Jaehyun” he responded, staring at the floor. Jaehyun continued, “You could get sick! I could’ve picked them up with you another day!”. Sanghyuk felt his cheeks warm up. He finally lifted his gaze, still standing near the doorway, a small puddle forming under his feet “I wanted to see you”.

Summary
Taesan looks back at Leehan, at the jacket across his lap and at the faint scale-imprints that trace down his legs. Everything about his posture seems indifferent to the fact that his life is about to end. His days are numbered to twenty nine, but the merman in front of him doesn’t seem to care at all. Taesan can’t help but ask.
“And…you’re not scared?”
Leehan actually thinks about the question genuinely. He turns back towards Taesan, then at the sea in front of him, like he’s trying to gesture at a feeling or something too grand and inexplicable for a human like Taesan to understand.
“No,” he says finally. “Twenty-two years is a complete life for us. I’ve seen everything I was supposed to have seen. I just haven’t seen this part of life yet.”
OR: Taesan, a coastal guard, finds a merman washed up on shore, with only twenty-nine days left to live and a dream of knowing what life is like as a human, so Taesan decides to show him around. Unfortunately, one lunar cycle is both exactly enough and nowhere near enough.
