Summary
Arthur knows he's dying, can feel the unstoppable pull of it, feels the spirit appear behind him to take him along. And yet, he finds he does not want to die. There is so much that went wrong, so much he regrets and he wishes, with all his being, he could change it. Could at least ensure those that managed to get away really make it out alive.
A second chance, he asks, begs, really. Just give me the chance to save them.
The being behind him pauses and Arthur can't look away from the moment he's frozen in, staring at the dark mountainside, aching to see the sun rise just one more time.
One chance, the spirit seems to whisper, voice satin soft. Make the most of it.

Summary
This is the home for all my fics that take place in the same Fix-It/Canon-Divergence universe that is established in Identity Beyond the Grave. That fic is strictly Charles Smith POV so in this series you'll find POV from other characters, and scenes that didn't quite fit the tone of the main chapters they were plucked from.
Generally, these can be read standalone because they take place in the "canon" universe of the game and should therefore be easy to jump into, but they're written to all take place with the same versions of the characters.

Summary
Arthur was still fighting.
Charles was too selfish to stop fighting now.Charles turns back and follows the path of bodies up the mountain. He finds Arthur, broken and still, on the bloodied rock face. Through his grief, he realizes Arthur Morgan lived, despite all odds. Now, Charles finds himself fighting an uphill battle to get ahead of both Arthur's sickness and his own selfish thoughts. He tried to put the softer feelings for the cowboy aside, it wasn't as important as getting him help, but then Charles finds a leatherbound journal that holds more than drawings of flowers.
