The Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, faced with an enemy unseen in Teyvat for a thousand years, had quite a lot on his plate. The Abyss encroached on his beloved Mondstadt’s borders. Badly injured from Abyssal attacks, all he could do was keep to his office and lose his mind, when out of nowhere a fae calling himself ‘The Azure Flame’ emerged, offering his help in repelling the Abyssal invasion in exchange for… something. Varka had an inkling of what this something might just be, judging from his rather flirty behavior, but how could he hand himself over to the Azure Flame, when his heart already belonged to his fiancé, Kyryll?

After years of their separation, Varka accidentally meets Flins again, triggering his body to unleash all the pent-up feeling he has buried for so long. Flins, on the other side, knows very well the struggle Varka has and he decides to finally do something about it.

"You're quite a ways from home, Sir Knight."
"Well, the wind does blow all over the world", Varka replies with something strange in his tone, as though this is an inside joke that only he is privy to. "Could I trouble you for your name? It only makes sense to know who I'm indebted to."
Though Varka is still smiling, his words are a little too reminiscent of stuffy nobles and insidious fae, counting favors on their fingers, to be demanded at the worst of times. Flins is quick to rebuke the notion.
"There is no debt between us, Sir Knight. It is my duty as a Lightkeeper to keep safe the travelers of these lands, no matter where they hail from."
"Even so, kindness should always be repaid in kind", Varka insists.

Varka doesn’t quite choke on his own saliva, but it’s a close thing. “Fifty what now?”
“Oh, don’t be like that,” Dori scolds with a shake of her head. “Anyone else would be asking for much more – it’s not every day you stumble upon a book this old and this useful too! A guide to courting for, ah, individuals specific to Nod-Krai and Snezhnaya? It’s practically a trove of information, Sir Varka! Really now, it’s only because you’re my most loyal, most esteemed, most valuable customer that I can afford naming such a low price.”
Or: Varka gets swindled into buying a Fae courting guide, written by a human for other humans. He's also forced to come to terms with his own feelings regarding a certain Lightkeeper (who might or might not be Fae). Shenanigans ensue as he attempts to follow this dubious yet somehow effective guide to the very end.
