Before I get into the matter at hand, I must apologise for contacting you out of the blue like this. You do not know me, and all rules of etiquette state that correspondence such as this should be saved only for those one knows personally, but I feel this is a worthy exception to the rule.
Stede finds love letters between his wife, Mary, and her lover, Doug, hidden at the back of their wardrobe. Curious, he reads the ones he finds, and uncovers the details of her affair. In many of the letters, Doug has mentioned a man named Ed, whom Stede assumes is Doug’s partner. Eager to do the right thing and protect Ed from his own inevitable heartbreak, Stede writes a letter of his own.

Over the years he has built up a reputation as a brutally honest reviewer, but when he posts a scathing review of a new release, he is astonished to find himself challenged by The Gentleman Reviewer, who claims the toy isn’t faulty but Blackbeard was misusing it.
Neither side is willing to back down, and their bickering escalates into a full-blown rivalry with the two of them battling it out to become the No.1 profile on the site. Nothing like a heated rivalry to get the blood going. Could this set ablaze something else between them?

Summary
Ed is an engineer aboard the Revenge, an interplanetary research vessel on a multi-year mission to study Jupiter's moon Europa. An accident requires that Ed awaken from cryostasis over six months early, and finds his only companion to be Stede, the ship's onboard AI. They develop an unconventional friendship, but is it possible to have more?
This is classic mutual pining with a sci-fi twist, inspired by all of my favorite stories about the nature of personhood.

“You–” Ed was struggling to parse what Stede was saying. “You’re playing your version of this song for me, right now? Like, in real time?”“Yes, Edward, that’s correct,” said Stede softly.
Ed’s brain momentarily seized up. He supposed it made sense that Stede was capable of learning a set of rules to do something like arrange and play a piece of music. There was something unnerving about this song, though. It felt, well–it felt organic . Reactive. Almost collaborative in a way. Ed was lost in the push and pull of it, until the last notes softly petered out.
“So, what did you think?” asked Stede. It sounded nervous again. Why the hell would someone program an anxiety response into a bot?

Ed can't help but chuckle at this sleeping position every time. He swears Stede sleeps like this on purpose now, making it known he enjoyed it very much last time when Ed decided to eat him out while lying like this.

After watching Aziraphale leave him, Crowley decides to try to sleep off the grief. A terrible nightmare makes his powers go haywire and he accidentally travels back in time to 1717 where he finds himself in a bar in Tortuga. He shares a drink with a man named Ed who he seems to have a lot in common with. A lot in common. The easiest way to comfort each other and distract themselves is to spend the night together.

“Now that’s not fair,” Crowley points at him over his glass. “I asked you first.”
Ed blinks at him.
“Why would I talk to you about it?”
“Because I’m here,” Crowley shrugs, “and no one else is.”

“Hello,” says the strangest voice Ed’s ever heard, jolting him out of his reverie, sending his heart speeding into chaos.He opens his eyes and he’s staring straight at a stuffed animal in the shape of a human person. It is bald with a tiny hat and too-big eyes and it wears a blue shirt and a name tag that says Jeffy in the sort of scrawl normally reserved for words written in blood.
A puppet, he realizes several seconds beyond when it would have been appropriate to respond.

“Put me in a bag and shake me up? That’s what my mum used to say.” She’d never actually done it though. Maybe she should’ve, might’ve shook something loose. Done them both some good.
Ed is possibly having a small midlife crisis. He's dealing with it pretty well, until he meets this blond guy outside the library.

Their meet-cute hits a bit of a snag when an incident at the concert threatens the nationwide tour Blackbeard and his band are about to go on, putting Stede under a spotlight he never wanted or asked for.

When Ed gets stuck behind the same slow driver for a long stretch of his road trip through the Pacific Northwest, that's one thing. When he finds himself at the same rest stop as the offending driver, it's quite another.
This Stede guy is a bit of a lunatic. But when Ed crosses paths with him again several days later, this time stranded on the side of the highway and in need of some assistance, Ed winds up on a slightly different road trip than the one he'd planned to take—with a man he absolutely doesn't plan to fall in love with.
Clearly, plans change.

It's a spectacularly joyous affair, and to make sure they have the best luck in their married life (according to Frenchie, a luck ceremony is a necessary part of the whole marriage thing), they send a bottle to sea filled with their most important articles, a signed Matelotage certificate, and a whole lot of love.
In 2023, after a rough breakup, Ed finds a unique bottle on the beach. Is this a twisted way for Stede to try and get back with him? Or could it be something more magical?
A story of reincarnation, a story of magic, a story of love.
