Summary
Going limp, she mentally prepared herself to simply shut off her mind, to let them have their way, convince her why she should stay... But Spike simply crawled toward her feet, tugging at the jeans she’d only just put on, and Drusilla gathered her into a bony embrace.
“Oh, sunshine,” Dru cooed, in a tone that sounded so much like love Buffy thought she was going to be sick. “We can clear away the noise, for a time. There’s no need to be rushing out just yet.” And with a small grin that brought to mind a sort of fae, she told Buffy matter-of-factually, “Not a Tuesday.”
In response, Buffy buried her face in Dru’s neck, and the body beneath her wiggled, pleased.

Summary
“Buff! You—! You’re a—!” Xander stammered. He was sweating through his clothes, his violent shaking even worse than her own. One hand was wrapped around the backdoor handle, ready to bolt out into the early morning sun at the slightest jerk toward him. He never once took his eyes off her. She could still smell the heady sting of his fear permeating the air around them, hear his thundering heart and feel the rhythm pulsing through her like a drumbeat. Her mouth watered beyond her will.
“Vampire,” Willow finished breathlessly.
And Buffy burst into tears.

Buffy gets unlucky one night on patrol. Not a one of them know what to do next, but that's not unusual for their lot, anyway. They'll figure it out.

Summary
“Can’t even vampire right,” Buffy voices this time, instead of just keeping it to herself, and he scowls.
“Piss off,” Spike snaps, now in a right little snit at her over the silent comparisons he was clearly hearing even when she did not say. Still, he stays staunchly seated, making no effort to leave despite his sudden mood. She wonders if rolling her eyes again would be too soon to have any effect.
And then, inexplicably, her vision turns blurry with tears — though literally nothing has happened — and rolling her eyes suddenly seems like the worst idea in the world.

Summary
though tara knows that’s an uncharitable take on how buffy’s been handling everything. she was just trying to make them feel better about the awful, awful thing they’d done, like they deserved to be mollified. she was trying to convince willow and xander in particular that she was still their buffy from before... the... fall. the resurrection.
you can’t mean that, tara says. you— you really want to forget? you’d let willow do that to you?
no, buffy amends quickly. I don’t. and I wouldn’t. I just... then she sighs, more than world weary. aching for a dimension she can’t reach anymore.

With a town as great as this, it’s easy to lose yourself in the fog of Miami’s night life. Everyone’s shed their inhibitions, slipping off the skin of polite society and letting their darker side slither out to play. Sweating out those angrier bits of life. All on the hunt to chase down their own hedonistic pleasure and feed it, satiate it, until there’s nothing left of it.
And of course, Rita is no exception. Except Rita was on the hunt for something darker to satiate her cravings. Something less carnal, but still just as primal. Something no amount of drugs, sex, and alcohol could hide the emptiness of.
