Summary
Finnick has always known he will be chosen to represent his district in the Hunger Games one day. He is unquestionably a prodigy, invited to train with the big kids at only thirteen years old.
He’s always been planning to volunteer one day, but when tragedy strikes his family, Finnick ends up volunteering years earlier than he was ever supposed to. Does a boy only fourteen years old really stand a chance of winning? Even one as exceptional as Finnick? It’s never happened before, not once in the history of the Games.
Finnick soon finds out that he not only stands a chance but is the overwhelming favorite to win. This is for reasons that have very little to do with his extensive training.
Follow along on Finnick's journey as he goes from overconfident but lovable kid to unwitting child star to Panem's most prominent sex symbol to the rebellion's most valuable spy — and he also falls in love somewhere along the way.

Summary
Evie Grador has never been exceptional. She's just a girl from the wrong side of District Four who's never been all that good at anything. Evie has always been an outsider at District Four's career academy, training amongst kids who are all smarter, richer, and better than her.
Finnick Odair, on the other hand, has always been exceptional. He is the prodigy, the golden boy, the one everyone says is destined to win the Hunger Games someday.
So Evie certainly never thought Finnick would notice her. When he does, Evie feels like she's living someone else's life. It feels like she's living in a dream.
Unfortunately for Evie, she's actually living in someone else's nightmare.
This is the story of Evie Grador, the first girl to ever have her heart broken by Finnick Odair.

Summary
*Part of a series but fine to read as a stand-alone.*
Johanna Mason is 11 years old the first time she sees Finnick Odair. She’s watching TV with her cousin Eleanor – who is an idiot – and Eleanor’s friend Addison – who is an even bigger idiot. It’s the tribute interviews, mandatory viewing, but Johanna would have far preferred to watch alone at home rather than be subjected to Eleanor and Addison’s insufferable stream of commentary and giggles.
Finnick Odair is 20 years old the first time he sees Johanna Mason. She’s a screaming, sobbing mess, having to be dragged up onto the stage by peacekeepers when her name is called at the reaping.
OR
Johanna and Finnick each watch the other's Games and think they have each other figured out. They will both come to realize that they were wrong.

Summary
“Well, I can’t leave Mags behind. She’s one of the few people who actually likes me.”
If you’re someone who knows of Finnick Odair — which is everyone — but doesn’t really know him — which is almost everyone — then you probably believe this to be a joke. Or perhaps it’s false modesty. After all, practically everyone likes Finnick. He’s fun, charming, handsome — what is there not to like?
But the truth is, when you get to know Finnick — really get to know him — he’s not always the easiest person to like. Most people in Finnick’s life — they come and go. They get swept up by fun, charming, handsome, life-of-the-party Finnick, then are disappointed when they find themselves dealing with moody, manipulative, clingy, deeply traumatized Finnick. Most of them leave as soon as they see the side of Finnick that isn’t ever shown on TV.
So here is the list of people who did stick around.

Summary
During his interview leading up to the third quarter quell, Finnick Odair famously recited a love poem, written for his one true love. Or so we thought. This is a blog post, written a decade later by former rebel, Fulvia Cardew. She reflects on Finnick's poem and the deeper meaning behind it, which we all missed at the time.
When most think back to Finnick’s poem now — if indeed they ever do — they assume it was Annie for whom the poem was written. Certainly, she is the person whom Finnick was referring to when he said that there was only one person whom he loved. There’s one issue with this assumption, however — namely that the poem in question isn’t really a love poem at all.
Here is the poem in its entirety. Finnick never specified a title for it, but most publications refer to it either as “Secrets in the Dark” or “I’ll Come Back for You”. Personally, I prefer the latter.
