Summary
While interning with Rafael Luna, Alex figures out that Jeffrey Richards behavior is less than acceptable. He creates a plan to expose Richards’ behavior, and in doing so, gets threatened by Richards. Alex goes into Witness Protection as a result and leaves behind everything he knows. He assumes a new identity and plans to stay to himself until things blow over. He wasn’t planning to meet Henry, who he has to keep the secret from. He also wasn’t planning to fall in love in the process.

“No!” Alex groaned, pulling out the chair across from her and sitting down. “This is serious.”
That got her attention. She locked her phone, her eyebrows raised. “Alright, Claremont-Diaz. Spill.”
Alex hesitated, glancing over his shoulder one last time. Then, in a dramatic whisper, he said, “I’m fake-dating Henry Fox.”
Nora blinked. Once. Twice.
Then she screamed.Or Alex Claremont-Diaz is an intern in the Legal Department at Okonjo-Fox Publishers and somehow he ends up fake dating his very cold, very attractive boss, Henry Fox during a high-profile gala.

Summary
When Henry gave him the watch after the Bouchard operation in Paris, it was half a joke and half because Henry’s hopeless heart latched onto the slim chance to keep an eye on him, at least from a distance. After their text exchange, he’d expected Alex to leave it behind, or disable the tracker, or at the very least not wear it, but as far as he can tell, Alex had done none of those things.
