Cheng Xiaoshi splashes his face with water, avoiding his reflection in the mirror. Stray drops glide down strands of his hair to trickle down his neck like beads of cold sweat.
Around him, all he can hear is running water. Even the canalisations sound quiet, the noise from inside too loud to focus. The relentless, frantic thumping of his own heart. He needs to calm down. Cheng Xiaoshi knows this.
It’s his first game in months. He can’t afford to mess it up.
Hands on each side of the sink, he tries to settle his breathing. Four in. Seven hold. Eight out… Instead, he just feels his heartbeat fastening, the onset of a headache anchoring itself in his head to add to all. The very last thing he needed.
Then suddenly, a pale hand reaches past him and the tap is shut. There’s an eerie presence behind him, finally, a whisper in his ear.
“You’re wasting water.”
Tick.
A sweet scent fills the room, overpowering. A mechanical ticking echoes in Cheng Xiaoshi’s ears, he covers his mouth and nose, choking.
Long hair tickles the nape of his neck; full, plump lips ghosting along his jawline to place a falsely chaste kiss on the underside. Soft breasts press against his back, and-
“What are you playing at,” he snaps, finally turning around and pushing off the assailant.
It’s a tall woman this time, with long, silver hair flowing down her back. A dress covers her body, plain, outrageously modest. She looks older than him, maybe five years, maybe ten.
She smiles, saccharine and fake as could be.
“Do you not enjoy some variety?”
“I don’t like being lied to,” Cheng Xiaoshi replies, turning back to splash his face. The scent is everywhere, getting denser by the minute. “Besides, that’s too old for me.”
“Not according to your computer history…”
Cheng Xiaoshi’s face flushes darkly. When he turns, he sees the one he’s meant to see.
Choppy, ridiculously fluffy white hair and kitten-grey eyes on a face marked with profound disinterest. His arms are crossed over his naked chest, the only fabric left uselessly covering his shoulders and—just barely—his hips. His eyes flicker to meet Cheng Xiaoshi’s, showing a minute twinkle of interest before he averted them again.
There’s a cracking sound, the twin tails whipping the air too fast.
“You could at least pretend you’re not put off by-”
“I don’t care whether or not you’re sweet,” Cheng Xiaoshi deadpans, cutting the stream of water. “It’s not a good time, Lu Guang, you know that.”
Wrong thing to say. Slit pupils thin within glowing irises, their new blue making the problem apparent. Lu Guang’s tails swish behind him as he leans up close in his space, invasive but too beautiful for Cheng Xiaoshi’s own good. An impish look, the creature licks his lips and lets out a voice not unlike a purr.
“I’m always a good time.”
The scent is everywhere. Arousal burns through Cheng Xiaoshi’s body. He focuses anywhere but on the skin bared to him, on the dangling, gleaming silver at his ears or the one clasped around his wrists, his ankles.
He turns to the lock.
He could open the door. Wash out the scent, force Lu Guang to bring all his attributes back under glamour and to dress somewhat decently. Join the team ahead of time. He can’t afford to be tired beforehands, and…
He reaches out, cupping the demon’s cheek gently. They’re so close, lips almost brushing.
“Lu Guang, you know how important this is to me. I’ll be all yours after the game, I promise. Trust me, this is hurting me more than it does you.”
Those luminous blue eyes inspect him, as if searching for a lie. Then finally Lu Guang pulls away, licking his lips. “You’re being honest.”
Cheng Xiaoshi laughed. “Why would I lie to you? My savior,” he says, prompting Lu Guang to roll his eyes. There’s still a faint blush that reaches his ears. Despite the irony, Lu Guang doesn’t dislike the expression.
“I worked hard on that appearance,” he says. His tails are still moving a little too quickly for Cheng Xiaoshi’s taste. Lu Guang’s upset.
“Fine,” he begrudgingly admits. “It was gorgeous. And it is, ugh… I like that type of person. But it makes you uncomfortable. It’s uncomfortable for me.”
“I can handle it, for just an hour…”
“I don’t want you to,” Cheng Xiaoshi explains. Lu Guang frowns some more. Then his tails stop moving. Slowly, slowly, they raise behind him, his eyes shining anew. A thin smile stretches his lips, this time true.
Cheng Xiaoshi shivers. “Whatever you’re thinking-”
“I can easily make it under ten minutes,” Lu Guang says.
“That’s not the problem, I can’t afford to get sleepy before-”
Lu Guang’s smile widens.
Cheng Xiaoshi understands, and Lu Guang pushes him right back against the sink. The scent explodes inside the room, leaving Cheng Xiaoshi doomed to inhale the full blast of pheromones. His body’s lit on fire, he grits his teeth, panting.
“In your state, you’ll fumble anyway. Just let me help you relax… And we both know I can leave you more energetic than I found you.”
The little shit lets go of him. Lu Guang knows all too well he’s won the game as he drops to his knees.
Cheng Xiaoshi sighs.
Lu Guang isn’t wrong. It’s surely better if he goes with less anxiety, even if he’s a little… distracted throughout.
He untucks his shirt out of the shorts, lowers them, and with some more force, slides down the lycra underneath. Lu Guang licks his lips, that purr back in his voice as he reaches for his cock.
“Finally being reasonable…”
Cheng Xiaoshi swats at his hands, wrapping his fist around himself instead. He’s already painfully hard, between Lu Guang’s… existence and the drugged-up state the scent leaves him in. “Back off.”
There’s that crack again. Doesn’t it hurt his tails to hit the air so fast? They start lashing the air, Lu Guang frowns at him, nearly baring fangs. Not the most reassuring to see when that’s where you plan to put your dick, but there’s no risk of a succubus damaging their meal-ticket, so to speak. It’s about as threatening as a kitten showing claws.
“What no-” Lu Guang’s complaint is muffled as Cheng Xiaoshi grabs him by the hair and shoves his cock past his open lips. His throat spasms as it’s driven home. Cheng Xiaoshi’s careless in a way he knows would be impossible for a human.
But Lu Guang isn’t human.
He doesn’t choke. There isn’t any touch of teeth, let alone fangs grazing sensitive skin, because Lu Guang would never allow it. Professional pride, maybe. And despite watering eyes as he acclimates to the rough pace Cheng Xiaoshi sets from the get go, his first instinct is to bring his hands behind his back, wrists joined as if bound, to flick his tongue just right on the underside the moment Cheng Xiaoshi tugs his hair to pull him off.
To do everything the way he guesses, correctly, that Cheng Xiaoshi wants him to do it.
Only better.
It’s a punishing pace and Cheng Xiaoshi knows it’s wasted on a sex demon whose entire body is built to take anything with pleasure. But it’s the release of so much frustration, and maybe even of the anxiety and fear that’s been plaguing him since morning. It feels so good, in that exact moment, to take advantage of that body and its nature.
So he goes without restraint. Lu Guang came on too hard, still adjusting the amount of pheromones he releases to match how much Cheng Xiaoshi already desires him. Arousal makes everything spin and sway, so he focuses on all that’s left.
The pleasure exploding along his spine, leaving him breathless. The porcelain sink digging painfully into his back. Jerking Lu Guang inwards and thrusting his hips outwards, repeat. Lu Guang’s mouth around him, his tongue, the squeeze of his throat, the choked ways in which he tried to breathe.
Lu Guang once blew him in the bathtub without ever once raising his nose out of the water. Cheng Xiaoshi knows full-well that Lu Guang doesn’t need to breathe.
It’s just added effect, just like the tears streaming down his face, the muffled moaning and panting and every other sound Lu Guang produces as he takes him.
And fuck, it works.
With a near-wounded shout, he buries himself fully inside. Lu Guang’s nose is nestled in his pubic hair, his body trembles under Cheng Xiaoshi’s grip.
Fake as hell…
And Cheng Xiaoshi still laps it up. His right hand shoots out to grab the edge of the sink, knuckles white, his back arches and his left hand keeps Lu Guang pressed down firmly until every last drop has been poured down his throat.
He feels himself come down slow. Lu Guang starts to struggle for air and Cheng Xiaoshi keeps holding on. The demon’s hands are still firmly held behind his back with no real tie, but whatever part of Cheng Xiaoshi’s brain it is that gets off on Lu Guang’s crying, it doesn’t care for that truth.
The rise and fall of his chest settles. He finally pulls out and Lu Guang chokes harshly, tears streaking his face and chest heaving. Cheng Xiaoshi watches with one eye open.
Lu Guang delivered on his promise, at least. He’s not hard again—yet—but he feels just as ready to go as he was earlier.
“I’m done, you know?”
Lu Guang interrupts himself mid choked hiccup, and perks up right away, tails high and a pleased expression on his perfect pretty face. He licks his lips, wipes at his cheek briefly.
“Was this to your taste?” he asks. It sounds perfectly neutral. Like he’s trying to get answers for a satisfaction survey.
But he’s known Lu Guang long enough to detect the smugness under that tone. Cheng Xiaoshi rolls his eyes, but he’s too blissed-out to lie. “You’re so fucking awesome.”
Blunt words, and simple ones. He doesn’t want to think too hard. He has just about ten more minutes left before the game, he sees on Lu Guang’s watch. God, he finished embarrassingly fast.
“Happy?”
“I want more when you’re done.”
“Oh, you’ll get more when I’m done,” he promises. “By the way, what’s up with your wings?”
It had been nagging at him, the absence of the succubus’s silver wings. They were what struck him most upon their first meeting, after all.
“I… the left one’s injured.”
Lu Guang answers in a non-committal manner, avoiding his eyes again. Cheng Xiaoshi just knows what happened, and wisely chooses not to comment.
Instead, he gets paper to pat down the wetness left and pulls the layers back on, compression shorts, uniform shorts. He tucks in the jersey. All within regulation.
“If I lose, it’ll be your fault,” he throws as he exits the bathroom. God, he hopes nobody was around. Hopefully they’ll all be preparing away. His team let him be because they knew he needed to get his shit together, but… oh well.
He’s smiling brightly when he leaves, Lu Guang’s offended expression at the accusation still in his mind.
He’ll win this. And Lu Guang will certainly be there to reward the winner.
He dunks the last ball of the game. A deciding play and a flashy one. He’s back to the team for good after so long, and it feels like the whole world is back on track. Qiao Ling runs into his arms the moment he’s allowed out, and he’s transported by relief.
When he gets home, Lu Guang’s kneeling on the floor of his room in a sheer white dress, tied up in pale blue ribbons and there’s a gag in his mouth. Cheng Xiaoshi doesn’t even ask how in hell he managed to do this to himself. He just gets him up and presses him against a wall, slowly thrusting into him.
He takes his time, nibbling at his skin and leaving kisses around his neck. Lu Guang is lax in his hand, moaning with abandonment. It doesn’t even feel fake.
He cooks them dinner afterwards and Lu Guang stays to eat. And even as Cheng Xiaoshi falls asleep with the demon in his arms, Lu Guang doesn’t leave.
He’s fast asleep against his chest when Cheng Xiaoshi wakes up. And there’s this inexplicable joy blooming in his chest.
He stayed, he stayed!
Cheng Xiaoshi truly feels like he’s won.
