"Lu Guang ...."
His name drips out, too soft for someone who'd been shouting exaggerated compliments at Xu Shan Shan and Dong Yi an hour ago.
"You're supposed to be downstairs," Lu Guang says.
"I can't sleep." Cheng Xiaoshi pads in, swaying slightly. "Sleep with me."
"No."
"Please? You're warm. And pretty. And warm."
"Go back down."
Cheng Xiaoshi plants a foot on the ladder.
Lu Guang sits up immediately, pulse ticking sharp. "Step back."
Cheng Xiaoshi does, smiling like he's already won something. Lu Guang presses a hand over his face for a second, then climbs down—moving past him, steady and slow—to the bottom bunk.
