“Well, maybe you should drive next time, if you’re such an expert!” Mike whines, jabbing Will’s side with his index finger.
Will yelps and smacks Mike’s hand away. “As if you’d let me drive, or just lift a finger in general.”
“I let you do plenty of things!”
“That’s so kind of you. Thank you for letting me.” Will shakes his head, but he fails to hide the smile blooming on his face.
“Why, you are so very welcome, my liege.” Mike snickers, his nerves finally settling down now that they’re back to their usual squabbling. “I can be reasonable.”-or-
In exactly one week, Will Byers is leaving Hawkins for college.
Mike Wheeler is handling this development very normally.
Unfortunately, "very normally" apparently involves becoming physically incapable of spending more than five minutes away from Will at a time, aggressively avoiding any discussions of the future, and slowly failing to keep his hands to himself.

Before he can stop it, his hands are slammed up against the headboard behind him. He whips his head towards them, they’re suspended by nothing, but he can’t move them an inch. He tugs at them, tries to pull them free from whatever invisible force is holding them there.
“You always call me a sorcerer, and now you’re shocked?”
His eyes slide to where Will is kneeling on the bed in front of him, a hand open at his side, blood trickling from his nose.

Summary
In the summer of 1992, the party uses their summer break from college to go on a well-deserved and hard-earned camping trip to Italy.
What ensues are a small shared bed, brutal summer heat, and a suddenly weirdly affectionate Mike Wheeler—all of which are quickly threatening to make Will Byers go insane.
Through the course of three weeks, Will struggles with years of repressed feelings as he slowly comes to realize that, maybe, all he ever wanted wasn’t nearly as far out of reach as he thought.
