“No,” a thin voice drawls out through closed eyes. “I don’t know what happened—I was onsite and working as usual, but for some reason my eyes were burning by evening. I don’t know how I even came home like that.”
Overexertion.
“That’s what you get when you don’t rest while you have the option to.”
“Shut up, Haitham,” he grumbles, exasperated.

“-We were the only two who’ve gotten out from that alive, so…” Satoru squeezes his eyes shut and scrunches up his face as he physically strains to utter every single word. Too much, this is all too much. “…Please, talk to me. I don’t wanna go through this alone, and knowing you, you don’t either.”
He opens his eyes to see Suguru staring at him, a little more awake and a little more alive. His lips are parted, though they don’t move. Then, he talks.
“You don’t want to hear it, trust me.”
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“It’s too filthy. Too disgusting.”

Satoru checks on Suguru nearly a year after the mission that turned their lives upside-down, leading to a conversation that’s long overdue.

Summary
Satoru wants nothing more than for their torture to end. He wonders if it had been better to say no to Shoko’s face (or phone, more accurately) this time; whether her skinning them alive upon seeing them return empty-handed would have been a kinder fate than whatever they’re going through right now, that they have absolutely zero qualification in dealing with.
At some point, she says, to his relief, “So, tell me. What would you like to have from my little shop?” Before she can speak another word, Suguru is quick to say, “Ah, we just need some sanitary napkins.”
If the energy wasn’t weird already, it sure is now. The granny leans closer and begins speaking in a hushed tone, as if they had asked her for drugs or something along those lines.

"Hey, I'm Ieri Shoko," says the brunette, seated on the opposite end of the sole row of student desks in the room. "Looking forward to our time together."
"Hello, I'm Geto Suguru. Pleased to meet you." So that's the name of the black-hair he saw yesterday. He was hard to miss, with the insane amounts of cursed energy he has.
He proceeds to make himself comfortable, resting his feet on his desk and leaning back in his chair at a dangerous angle. He shifts his gaze to the window and zones out until he hears Geto's voice again: "… I didn't get your name?"
Oh, right- "It's Satoru. Nice to meet y'all~!"

Summary
Kaveh used to think that Alhaitham had mastered the art of ignoring him. The man would remain unflappable as he continued to read his worn copy of The Origins of Enkanomiyan Language, even when Kaveh was a hair’s breadth away from shattering the windows of their house with his severity of pitch.
No amount of screaming, threats to throw things, or violently waving in front of him could get Alhaitham to pause in his thirst for knowledge. As it turns out, Alhaitham literally just turns his hearing aids off so he doesn’t have to listen to Kaveh.
It’s for this exact reason that Kaveh has decided to learn Sumerian Sign Language.

Summary
