Summary
Children’s hair sometimes changes color as you grow. When he’s young enough for it not to be unusual, but old enough to know he’ll get in trouble for doing something ‘freakish’ again, Harry's hair goes from his father's dark locks to his mother's bright, most-likely-magical red hair.
It changes everything about who he identifies with, who he wants to grow up to be, and who he thinks he is. Instead of having James Potter as his idol, Lily turns out to be a much better influence.
So instead of seeing a scruffy, most-likely-muggleborn boy standing beside him in Madam Malkin's before their first year, Draco only has eyes for the scarlet-haired, green-eyed creature who just walked into his life. “Stand aside, you silly girl… stand aside, now”.
And Lily Potter stepped aside.
Voldemort stared at her.
“... Is this some sort of trick?” he asked softly.
“No". Her voice was flat, lifeless. “You already killed James... If you let me live, then you can have Harry”.
Voldemort’s lip curled - not in amusement, but disgust. His own mother had died for him. Pathetic, yes, sentimental and foolish - but she had chosen to die so that he could live. Lily Potter wasn’t even choosing to care. Surely the child of prophecy deserved a better mother than this! Even he could give the boy to a better family to be raised right!
Voldemort slowly reached down and picked up the child.
He was still staring at him. He was still oddly silent. His eyes were still the colour of the Killing curse and brimming with power.
Yes, Voldemort decided, that was exactly what he’d do.
"You belong to me now" he whispered.
And with a crack like thunder, he turned on the spot, vanishing into the night.Or, the one where Harry Potter is raised by the Lestranges and it goes more or less how you would expect.

Harry drained the magical power from all the Death Eaters in the final battle, including Snape. He now has to come to terms with being the most powerful wizard in the world many times over. And unless Severus wants to become a squib and die from his lingering magical wounds, he has to stay withing touching distance of Harry. Permanently.

Michael had grabbed the stack of that day’s mail on his way out of the house that morning and he hadn’t stopped to look at the return address on the envelope. If he had, he probably would have just tossed it in the trash.
“Hey,” Angie barks out, then snaps her fingers in his face. “Earth to Ormewood. What’s going on here, bud. Are you stroking out?”
ormewood gets an invitation to his ex-wife's wedding and he needs a date. who will he ask?!
