All Akutagawa remembered was a blinding golden light and a strong wind. The next thing he knew, he was on his back on some kind of cushioned surface, his veins still thrumming with adrenaline. He jolted upright, Rashoumon poised behind him in a series of spikes. Atsushi lay face down on the bed next to him, groaning. His legs were halfway regenerated, a blue glow around the ends of the severed limbs.
Right. The weretiger had jumped in front of him in battle, taking the brunt of the enemy’s attack. And for his stupidity, he’d gotten both legs sliced off, rendering him useless. This was why Akutagawa hated working with him. His savior complex made him act outside the plan, and nearly always cost them the fight.
But what had he done this time? This was certainly different. The rusty walls of the abandoned warehouse were replaced with a lot of… pink. Far too much pink. And cushions, pillows, and drapes. Where the hell had that idiot weretiger transported them?

Atsushi was preparing for bed when a bouquet of flowers landed at his feet. Then a mysterious figure climbed in through his window, drunk and ready to confess his love to him. He would've been scared if he hadn't half expected/hoped it would happen... again.

In other words: Akutagawa gets drunk and breaks into Atsushi's apartment to confess his love but it's not the first time.

“Please, what does it take to win your heart? I want you to love me too.”Atsushi brushed Ryūnosuke’s bangs aside. He whispered, “It’s the same every time. I tell you to ask me out when you’re sober. You just have to remember in the morning.”
Ryūnosuke’s nose scrunched up. He closed his teary eyes and put his weight onto Atsushi. His face pressed into his shoulder. He was so hot, Atsushi wondered if he had drunk more than just wine.
Atsushi slowly wrapped his arms around Ryūnosuke's slim waist. He patted his back, rocking side to side. He comforted him the best he could without breaking his own heart.
“We’ve done this dance before. I’ve already told you how I feel. You’re the one who keeps forgetting.”
He murmured into his shoulder, “I’ll try not to this time.”

What if Akutagawa had listened in to Dazai and Atsushi's conversation on the boat at the end of Season 3?
She’s looking at the ship with a small smile on her face. “You know, for all that the Agency is full of skilled people, they’re surprisingly easy to plant bugs on.
He wouldn’t be able to take it if Dazai started next. He’s reaching a hand up when he hears, “We’re just fundamentally incompatible.”
What’s that supposed to mean? He wants to scream at Atsushi, to catch him with Rashōmon and shake him until he tells him.
“I know you’re listening.”
His breath is finally coming clear and he’s got enough air in his lungs to worry about what Dazai says next, in a terrifyingly soft tone of voice. It’s an order.
“Meet me on the ship. I’ll be disappointed if I don’t see you here.”

Summary
It isn’t the kind of thing that Atsushi expected to walk in on. Dazai holding a meeting in neutral territory -- that wasn’t weird in of itself, the warehouse barren and echoing as Atsushi walked through it. The office door was heavy when he swung it open, but it didn’t creak, nothing but the soft sound of displaced air to announce his arrival.
It was enough: Akutagawa’s eyes dart towards Atsushi for a brief second before they refocus on Dazai like Atsushi isn’t even there.
“Atsushi-kun,” Dazai offers, like Akutagawa isn’t on his knees on the concrete floor, like Dazai isn’t holding Akutagawa’s throat in a vice grip that looks like it could turn deadly in a moment’s notice.
Yeah, the weird part was definitely everything else about this.

He took his hand back from Atsushi's and slid it up his rival's arm until he reached his neck. He clasped the back of his neck and drew him in for a kiss. It was open-mouthed and hungry. So that’s what the intense aura was…
