It wasn’t always bad. It was usually dark, and it was always cold, but it didn’t matter, really. Not when there are days when Jimin smiles, laughing softly at Yoongi saying something funny, holding his hand and trying, despite Yoongi turning away, to love away the parts of him that hurt.
Things weren’t completely better, like Yoongi had promised they would be. They would be. Eventually he’d get to the rings he has hidden away, and the grey days would fade away.

It’s so humid Pete feels like he’s being held. He tried to explain this phenomenon to Patrick the first time Patrick felt true humidity, he said that his mother’s blood was from the islands and that the wet blanket of straight heat felt like a neverending suffocating hug.
“And that’s supposed to be a good thing?!” Patrick was practically soaking through his shirt. “This is disgusting.”
Pete didn’t know how to tell Patrick that it actually really wasn’t.
