“Akechi came over for a Featherman marathon yesterday,” he said, in response to nothing. “Morgana was with Futaba, so I let him crash on the couch.”Fully a lie. They’d woken up tangled together in Akira’s bedcovers, and he was already filing away the memory of Akechi using his chest as a pillow, marked essential priority.
“...Yes,” Akechi said after a moment’s pause. “Thank you for allowing me to stay, Akira – I hate to rush off, but I’m afraid I need to be home soon.”
Sojiro said nothing, looking at them for a long moment, but finally turned to reach for a second plate from the shelf. “You’d better eat before you go,” he said.
“Oh, that’s not necessary,” Akechi said politely. “I was planning on picking up a bento from the station on my way home, so–”
“Kid,” Sojiro said, plunking the plate down on the counter, “eat the curry.”
Akechi blinked, silent for a moment, then pulled out a stool and sat down without argument.

Aventurine’s head whipped back into place to face Ratio. Those words couldn’t be real. Not coming out of Ratio’s mouth, and not directed towards Aventurine. He needed confirmation. He needed confirmation that this was real, he wasn’t dreaming, he wasn’t insane, he was here, he was real and that actually happened. Because not even in his wildest dreams would something as impossible as this occur. Desperately, Aventurine seized Ratio’s arms which were loosening around him as he looked to him for validation.
Aventurine stared at him in horror.
Ratio was passed out.

Akechi sat in a quiet cafe across from a dark haired, determined boy. The warmth of LeBlanc eased into him, trying to goad him into taking down the protective walls he'd built around himself. He wouldn't, though.
Not while those silver eyes watched him like they wanted to open him up, expecting him to dump his life story onto the table between them.
In that cafe, Akechi could only know one thing for certain: There was no point letting Akira worm his way under his skin.The path that he was walking would end up with one of them dead.
