Summary
In a panel, Justin Roiland said that Beth "fetishizes the extraordinary" and said something else to the effect that Beth wants Morty to be extraordinary like her father, and values it above anything else. This, coupled with wives commonly responding with tolerance and forgiveness when they find out their spouses molested their child, made me think Beth might not actually throw Rick out if she were to discover them.
So here's a fic about all the fucked up shit that implies, undercutting an otherwise fairly senseless story about Rick and Morty's relationship.

He thought it was too intense before, that he simply couldn't endure the sensations that Rick was forcing through his body, but Morty was wrong. He felt desperate for it now, like he couldn't live without being that high ever again, and when he whined out Rick's name and made a grab for him, the older man seemed to know exactly what he was asking for.

The hope was that Vecna was dead, because a portal to Hell splitting Hawkins down the middle was a kinder reality than the one they lived in. Max had woken up, after all, so maybe miracles do happen, and whatever took place during Spring Break was the end of it. Luck was never on their side, though.
The anniversary of Will's disappearance looms over them, like a guillotine in the form of a ticking clock. They knew well enough that all it takes is one night for everything to go wrong. The crawl goes off-script, Hopper is M.I.A., and the Wheeler's house is in ruin.
Maybe what they need is a return to form; maybe Will needs to go back there, to the Upside Down, himself, to get the answers they're looking for.
