Summary
In which Hohenheim finds himself unemployed, struggling, and shit out of luck in the month directly following the fall of Lobotomy Corporation. He is doing his best to survive, but the City seems intent on throwing as many obstacles in his path as possible, including a lonely, washed-up Maestro of the Ring.
I have no longterm plans for this fic. Just writing for fun because I've got Calliheim brainworms and no one else seems to be writing fics of them. Spoilers for LCB Checkup, and minor spoilers for Canto 9, mostly related to Callisto.

He spoke my first name with an inflection completely contemporary to my ears. A shiver wracked my spine, yet I managed to speak with courage mustered from some unknown part of my soul. My eyes peeled from his and searched for words on a page within a novel I had forgotten was settled in my grasp. I shifted my weight, further from Demian’s prodding gaze. These questions tormented me with every passing moment. It had become clear I was quite stricken. My mind shifted through these musings with great difficulty in holding them, even for a moment.

The King wished to escape his digital prison due to loneliness, but it wasn't so bad with companionship, and the Lord made for a much better Prince anyways, all he needed was a little... Encouragement.
Tldr; The King is petty that he couldn't get Avery and decides Derek would do instead, so why not fuck him silly till he didn't want to leave? Besides, he made such beautiful sounds, that was definitely a win.
