Revontulet as the Finnish word for the Northern Lights directly translates to “fox fires.” The firefox, also known as tulikettu, is a mythical and elusive creature of the north coveted by hunters. A legend has been passed down that if a person catches the firefox, they would be rich and famous beyond their wildest dreams.
As it runs across the fells, the firefox’s fur scratches against the trees and it’s flaming tail sends crystals of snow into the sky, setting it alight with aurora fire. There is a scientific basis to this explanation as fur can be charged with static energy - producing sparks.
The word “repo,” used by the migrant Forest Finns, can also be linked to revontulet with its meaning of “a spell.” Therefore many believed the auroras to be spell fires, caused by forces of light and darkness waging war in the sky.

With piercing and sharp dragon eyes, Namjoon sent glares at crowds and photographers like he was two steps from murder at any given moment, but then Namjoon would turn to escort Seokjin with the gentlest of touches. It’s been two weeks. Hoseok has managed to survive two weeks of Kim Namjoon’s progressively darkening thighs and his cheek craters and his swooshy hair and that stupid laugh he does that makes him sound like a bleating sheep.
Yoongi looks over his shoulder. Stares. Slowly draws his gaze back to Hoseok. “Are we discussing the same man who tried to brush his teeth with sunscreen yesterday?”
“Ew, he did that?”
“Your voice says that’s disgusting but your face says you’re enamored.”
Hoseok presses his palms against his eyes until he sees colored spots. “Make it stop, hyung.”
