Summary
“What is Xiao Zhuo ge dreaming about?” Bai Jiu asked, trying to inch closer to Zhuo Yichen’s bedside even though there was no room. “Why is he in pain?”
Zhao Yuanzhou was still swaying on his feet, as if drowsy. Zhuo Yichen’s dream must be strong if it pulled so hard on even Zhao Yuanzhou. Pei Sijing's supporting grip on his arm tightened, and the glance she threw Wen Xiao was uncharacteristically panicked.
“I couldn't get a clear picture,” Zhao Yuanzhou said. He patted Pei Sijing's arm in thanks, the movement shaky. “His dream pushed me out because a version of myself was already there. We were all there.”
“That's good, right?” Bai Jiu asked hopefully. “If our dream selves are there, then we can help him.”
“No.” Zhao Yuanzhou looked solemnly downward. Zhuo Yichen's face was still, deathly still. “No, I don't think it's a good thing.”

"Xiao Zhuo," she calls. She nips at Pei jiejie's palm to keep her from retracting her hand. At Pei jiejie's raised eyebrow, she smiles sweetly up at her.
"…Yes?" Xiao Zhuo responds.
"I'd like to have you inside of me," Wen Xiao tells him, eyes locked with Pei jiejie's. "While I'm inside of him."
She drops her gaze to Zhao Yuanzhou. His eyes go hazy, his mouth slack.
