Summary
There’s something building, bubbles rolling across frothing water, heat and sound and thick steam curling like an impenetrable wall of humidity over the city. Each time Mickey comes into the store, gives him that predatory look, the rope of tension between them tightens, laden with the tantalizing possibility of more.
For someone so stubborn, Mickey's about as flighty as a deer. The slightest threat of a kiss, even Ian looking at his lips for a second too long, always has him bolting.

Summary
When Mickey gets released from Prison early, the last thing he expects is for his PO to get him a job at a center for LGBT youth. He also doesn't expect to like it, and have his boss end up being Ian's new boyfriend. But knowing he needs to move on with his life, he lets Ian go and continues to get his life back together. Ian, keeping his past with Mickey a secret and trying to keep his feelings in check, starts a snowball chain of events that means someone is going to end up hurt.
He just doesn't expect it to be everyone.

Summary
Mickey wasn't calling him with his usual arsenal of nicknames. A few still made some appearances, albeit much rarer than before. "Tough guy," a teasing one once in a while (it sends a thrill down his spine, most times, the way Mickey looks at him when he says it). "Gallagher," when Mickey was pissed (this one sends a chill, not in the good way, he always knows he's in trouble when he hears that one). But Lip was right, most of the time Mickey calls him by his name.
"Get your ass over here, Ian."
"Ian, what was the song we heard on the radio?"
"What kinda rabbit shit are you trying to feed me now, Ian?"
And of course, his favourite: "Love you, Ian."
So lately, he's been thinking about names. Specifically, his name in Mickey's mouth.
Because whenever anyone else calls him by his name, there isn't a strong reaction. Sure, it'll get his attention. He'll introduce himself as Ian, so it isn't surprising he hears his name multiple times a day.
But with Mickey? It's different. He knows there's something distinct about the way he says it, but he can't quite place his finger on it.
