Summary
Talk of soulmates was common amongst the young women of the town of Ingary- Eliza included. She used to dream of meeting her soulmate through letters she’d write. She had stopped writing them after she turned 13, tucking them away in a box to be kept safe under her bed.
Now, she just looked over the many trinkets she obtained over the years. Some were hers, most were theirs. Cute little children’s toys and knick knacks litter her desk, making her come to the conclusion her soulmate was a child at heart. One morning, though, she found something that made her pause.
Sitting innocently on her nightstand, is a small box.

“What do you think it would be like to travel around as Howl does?” She asks, not noticing how the fabric in her hands becomes a deeper shade of red. “Would it be freeing? An adventure beyond belief? What do you think he sees as a wizard?”
Sophie hums, carefully placing more flowers onto her own hat and pinning them in place. Eliza sighs, placing the unfinished hat on a stand and leans her arms on the table.
“Am I dreaming too big?” She softly asks, looking down at her hand; the ring shimmers in the evening sun. “What if they don’t share my dream of going off in the great wide… somewhere?”
“You have beautiful dreams, Eliza. I believe you’ll go on an adventure someday; soulmate or not.” Sophie says softly, placing her finished hat on a stand and turning to her friend. “And when you do, I hope you will take me with you.”

Zuko scrubs his body until it’s raw, blushing red; he dunks his head under the hot water and stays there, staring up at the dark, vaulted ceiling of the washroom until his lungs run out of breath to use.
The oil of honeysuckle and opium and cinnamon, sweet and sharp and earthy, does not wash the stench of scorched flesh out of his nose.Zuko falls asleep on the evening of his official coronation, when he’s twenty-one-years old and has finally reached his majority. Zuko wakes on the morning of the Agni Kai with his father, eight years earlier.
This is annoying for several reasons, like the fact that the War is still ongoing, that he has zero friends, and that Ozai is not in jail.
