Summary
In the water, Rin opens his eyes: the sting and the salt and the interminable, empty blue. It threw him off balance, hearing himself talk like that. That much, that calm. When he lets Isagi in like that, he can’t stop his heart from reaching out for more, clumsy and stupid.
He swims for a long time, until his muscles ache in that good way that lets his brain fuzz out a little bit. When he gets out of the water, Isagi and the dog have left the beach.
Everything comes crashing down on Itoshi Rin. All it really takes is Isagi Yoichi, Greece, and a stray dog.

Rin is quiet for another second. Reo’s probably overstepping, but there’s something addicting about leaving Itoshi Rin speechless.
Finally, Rin recovers from his surprise. “Says you,” he says smugly, like he’s certain it's his turn to leave Reo speechless.
“Says me?” Reo repeats, curious. “But I’m not putting on an act, Rin. This is just me.”
Reo first thinks of it while sitting under the shade of a loquat tree, with Itoshi Rin by his side.

Reo has never been great at giving up. It’s one of his better qualities, usually. He knows what he wants, and he works hard to get it. It’s how his mind is wired. And he definitely wants Chigiri – so, so much – but also, it definitely would be a terrible idea to try.
It’s fine. Now they are playing for the same team for the first time in years and it’s fine. Better than fine. He gets to see so much of Chigiri now.
