One last roadtrip. One last chance to save a friendship.
14 years ago, Andrew and Neil met on a beach. It was hate at first sight. At least until they realised they were both looking for Alice Flagg's grave - it was a bonding moment that shaped them for a decade. They travelled the length of South Carolina, then the USA, then Europe. Nothing could break them apart. Until Baltimore.
Now, two years have gone by in silence and their friendship is almost as abandoned as the dust towns they used to visit.
Can one last road trip bring them back to where they used to be? Can it save a friendship (perhaps even make it into something more)? Or is it all over for Andrew and Neil?

“Come on!” Nicky’s whining as he follows Kevin around. “At least let Andrew look at it!”
Kevin halts his pacing and turns to Nicky, leaning in towards him, surely to try and intimidate him. Nicky remains unfazed, though he does raise his hands in a placating manner, almost like it’s an instinct to try and defuse any remotely precarious situation.
“No,” Kevin hisses sharply. “Nicky, listen to me. He can’t see this case—so just keep your voice down.”
Oh? Andrew pulls himself out of his chair. He sneaks across his room towards the door, closer and closer, until he’s standing just behind it.
None of these cases on his desk are very interesting.
But the commotion outside his office certainly is.

Voldemort has been reduced to a husk. He had no ability to love until he is trapped as the remainder of his soul tethers itself to a little boy that he was supposed to have killed. A boy that will grow up and just might be the only thing that can save him if he doesn’t get them both killed first.
Harry grows up without much, just the shadowy thing that seems to want to protect him from his abusive Aunt and Uncle. It’s vicious, brutal, and claims to hate him. But Harry thinks that it loves him just a little bit. Even if its touch seems poisonous.
