“I intend to end his reign,” he says lightly, “and him along with it.”
Another beat.
“With your help, of course.”
Rin refuses to react. “You’re more insane than you look.”
Isagi’s smile widens, just a fraction too much.
As if he was saying, I get that a lot.
He steps straight into the space of Rin’s blade, testing whether Rin will actually use it.
“And you’re stronger,” he adds, almost thoughtful. “That’s what will make this work.”
Isagi takes another mad step, and the tip of the sword brushes his skin.
“Help me take down the King,” Isagi insists, voice dropping, not quieter, just… heavier, “and I’ll find Sae for you.”
