So, the loose cannon was being transferred under him as an adjutant. knew well why Marshall trusts him with situations like these, he was respected amongst the military boys. He never had to repeat himself twice for the order to be obeyed, never had to raise his voice more than once for the task to be fulfilled. He’s known to have a firm hand over his subordinates.

Summary
The bunker is too quiet, and Dean Winchester is crawling out of his skin. Six miles on the treadmill, a bruised set of knuckles on the heavy bag, a couple glasses of whiskey, none of it is enough to burn off the static in his head or the way his body won’t settle.
Then Cas walks into the gym barefoot, rolls his sleeves up, and offers Dean a simple solution:
“You need to hit something. I can take it.”
What starts as late night “training” turns into Cas pinning Dean to the mats again and again, calm and steady while Dean’s body betrays him in every possible way. Avoidance doesn’t help. Whiskey doesn’t help. Showers definitely don’t help.
Cas noticing absolutely everything, and very quietly wanting it too?
Yeah.
That might actually do the trick.Sparring, yielding, and learning there are much better ways to work off tension than running in circles.

“This is all your fault, you know,” Dean groaned.
“Hm?” Castiel responded intelligently.
“You jump-started my heat almost a month early. Your fault,” Dean said again, elbowing the man behind him.
Castiel ‘hmm’d’, nearly dozing off before Dean’s words registered in his mind. “That shouldn’t be possible, Dean. That would mean...”
“Yeah,” Dean said quietly. “True mates.”
Castiel held Dean closer and kissed the back of his neck.
“My Omega,” he whispered.

Dean Winchester was going to die.
When he didn't present at sixteen as expected, Dean was illegally recorded as an Alpha. He has known for a long time that he wasn't one, but to stay and protect his young brothers, Dean accepted the lie and hid his true nature until it couldn't be hidden anymore and his first heat came.
None of it mattered after Dean was framed and sent to prison.
