Summary
Selina has no desire to be caged.
Perhaps, the more apt term is domesticated.
Sometimes, it scares Selina: the absence of that desire. She thinks that, maybe, one day it will finally come to her – like a cat that slinks in the dark of the night through her apartment window and curls up beside her.
To be loved is to be caged; worst of all, it’s to do so willingly.
But it never has – that is, the desire has yet to introduce itself to Selina – and that scares her: the absence of that desire. Sometimes, she doubts herself. Maybe it’s already arrived, like an unwanted visitor who has broken in all to stay well past his time.
Perhaps, it isn’t so bad to name the cat.
