He had walked across the entirety of the world, pretty much, running his heels down and permanently damaging his bones. He would wittle himself down mentally and hurt himself that way. Anything to punish himself.
And now, he faced a different form of harm, in the person he cared the most for. Floette gripped his jacket with her tiny hand, unsure how to help the human. She never had to deal with this.
