“A weapon is meant to be brandished,” Jiyan utters, watching those muted yellow eyes flit around. “Lack of use will lead to rust. I understand, General.”
“You aren’t—” the general cuts his thought short. “Go treat that wound before it causes bigger issues. Neglecting yourself will do no one any favors in a war.”
“Then I bid you goodnight, General Geshu.”
“This is not a punishment, Jiyan.”
He cannot think of what to say to that, so he says nothing at all.
OR
The first hallucination Jiyan experiences passes within a day. The second lingers. The third tempts. The fourth leaves very real marks. And the fifth haunts his every breath.

Summary
Betrayed by his right-hand man, Geshu Lin, the King of Beasts is taken by the sea, bringing the lives of his enemies down with him into his watery grave. To his bewilderment, he washes up on the shores of Jinzhou, clear across the ocean.
Geshu Lin wakes to hands on his body, the sense of a figure crouched over him. Lashing out, he seizes the offender by the throat, claws pricking their jugular in a deadly threat. “Who dares lay hand on ben zuo,” he snarls, ears pinned back into his hair.
He barely gets a word out and the person has already reacted with commendable swiftness, a blade of wind at Geshu Lin’s neck, drawn so fast he doesn’t see it form. Compassionate golden eyes gaze down on him from a pretty face, a banner of teal draped over the man’s shoulder. But what snares Geshu Lin’s attention are the two majestic horns rising from the man’s crown.

Summary
From the corner of his vision, Jiyan catches a glimpse of an obsidian arm that bears a chilling resemblance to that of the Dreamless’, covered by that smooth armored shell and tipped with wicked golden claws. A frisson of alarm shudders down his spine.
A Tacet Discord? But why is it defending him, fighting its brethren?
And then the field erupts into black flames.
Jiyan has only ever seen one person wield such unusual fire. Head whipping around, he sees a familiar black blade protecting his back.
“General?”
Feat. Part-Tacet Discord!Geshu Lin. Yes. It’s probably exactly what you’re thinking+quite a bit of story to go with it.
Both chapters up! Chapter 2 is the smut--it’s separated out for warnings and in case someone wants to skip the explicit content.

Summary
Jiyan falls defending Jinzhou to his last breath. To his astonishment, he opens his eyes to find himself a month after the Battle Beneath the Crescent…with Geshu Lin miraculously alive.
This second chance, he resolves to live his life without regrets.
“What the hell are you wearing?” Geshu Lin’s voice is a little too rough when he recovers.
“My clothing meets regulations for non-standard uniforms. It’s more practical for wielding Qingloong.”
“Which part of that,” Geshu Lin gestures emphatically to his half-off robe, “is practical?”
“Should I remove the robe then?” Jiyan asks helpfully. Emboldened by Geshu Lin’s rare discomposure, he suits action to words, unbelting and shrugging off the hanfu, leaving him in his sleeveless top and gauntlets.
“Put your clothes back on,” Geshu Lin hisses in disbelief.
