“I do,” he laughs, “but it always just ends with ‘become a great exorcist and overcome my condition’ – isn’t there anything more… specific you’d like to do? Beyond someday visiting a hot spring?” He teases.

The seafoam bubbles and froths where the ocean meets sand, unseen tremors underneath the serene surface. He bites his lips, the spray of the sea landing on his face. The salt erodes skin, his skull and soul laid bare under the darkening sky.

“My company will be just as powerful, and then what?” Mr. Liu laughed. Xingqiu could smell his breath, he was so close.
In an instant, so quick that Xingqiu could blink and miss it, the tip of a blade stabbed the ground between Mr. Liu’s feet.
“I believe he told you to step back.”
Xingqiu’s head shot up at the sound of the voice, a touch foreign but wholly familiar. Chongyun. His heart started to race so hard he was afraid it was audible.Or; Chongyun has been gone for nine years. So much has changed and yet, the one that that seemingly hasn't is Xingqiu's heart.

It is far from the first time that Albedo has received praise for his art, but he appreciates it all the same. “It is only because of good inspiration.” Albedo says, truthfully. Xingqiu has been a lot of help.

She knows she should feel shame, or embarrassment, or something, but she cannot find it in herself to care: everything has been going sideways ever since her heart began beating, and she feels small and fragile with the weight of it. Edelgard stands close now, hands clasped tightly in front of her.
“My teacher,” she starts. Sighs. Then, as Byleth watches, the Emperor disappears from her expression and leaves behind a young woman, uncertain and a little sad, eyes shadowed, face drawn. Edelgard drops to her knees in front of her. Her lashes are wet with unshed tears.
Byleth reaches out to touch her shoulder, startled.
“My teacher, my teacher, how can I tell you about my shame?” Edelgard asks. “After everything you have given me, that I still wanted more?”
