Summary
Michael Robinavitch could not win
At least, that’s what he thought.
Despite trying his best to improve his life, a string of unfortunate events leaves Robby wondering why he even tries. In his vulnerable state, Robby makes a stupid decision with the help of a box of cheap wine and hair bleach.
Now sporting some bleach blonde hair, Robby is questioned by many of the doctors and nurses in the ER for his questionable decision. Despite that, Jack Abbot embraces Robby for who he is, even if Robby doesn't know who that is yet.

"Do you remember what happened before this? Before you got here?" the woman asks, shifting her position on the couch. She sets down her notepad and pen before turning back to him.
Robby has to think. He remembers leaving the ED, crossing the bridge, getting to Liberty, turning onto Grant, seeing that damn couple, thinking about Jack, and a loud horn. And then –
– that's where it ends. He can't picture what happens after that because…

"You want me to go?"
That's the last thing Jack wants. "Stay, please, you know you're always welcome."
Robby relaxes, and he carries on stirring
Jack interrupts the quiet once more with the other question that's been on the tip of his tongue.
"Why haven't you left?"
Robby freezes. He doesn't turn around, doesn't look at Jack, like it's easier to be honest this way.
"Because I think if I go, I won't come back."

After the end of 2x15. Robby turns up at Jack's house instead of going on his sabbatical and then just....doesn't leave

Summary
Jack is earnest. It seemed to be his only other setting, when sarcastic wasn't available. It means that the words, no matter how corny to Robby's more than a little jaded ears, ring true. Annoyingly.
"This is a shitty midlife crisis," Robby says mildly, twitchy in opposition to Jack's stillness, but the other man can smell blood in the water.
"Hey, cheaper than a Miata."

Robby finds himself spiraling when his latest relationship ends. Jack offers him a spot as a co-director at a local summer camp. Robby can't help but say yes.

Summary
Generally speaking, Robby can handle a busy–but not overly catastrophic–day in the ED with the grace of a ballerina wearing long-dead pointe shoes. He's got the moves down, but the vessel itself is a bit weary—though still able to take the beating. Generally speaking, he hadn't set some arbitrary date to confess to Jack fucking Abbot that he's not only in love with him but they should give this whole relationship thing a chance.

Robby works himself up into a tizzy during the one day the AC is out, making himself sick. It's also the day he's planning to confess to Jack that he's in love with him. Keeping things simple is for the weak.- Language:
