Summary
"We were so worried, we heard you—" Ragatha starts, and then looks up. She meets Jax's gaze dead-on, and goes silent. Tears brim in the corner of her eye. Her hand flies up to cover her mouth. He can't tell if the look on her face is relief or fear.
Gangle's staring at him like she's seen a ghost. Pomni slowly raises to her feet, brows furrowed. She winces as every movement jars her wavering form.
Cowered on the floor, panting, confused and disoriented, with everyone standing above him, taller than him… it reminds Jax of something deeply unpleasant. They're all staring at him. They're all seeing him.
Jax knows they're not going to like what they see.
His breath quickens until his head is spinning, and he feels like he's going to vomit. He forces himself upwards with a frustrated cry, swaying in place, and then turns and bolts towards his room as fast as he can.
"NO!" Pomni screams.
(or: pomni pulls jax back from the brink.)

Summary
Nobody really believed that unabstraction was possible. Nobody...except for Pomni.
Jax's words rang in her head every day. "I don't wanna go." His final plea, his last desperate grasp at life. It didn't matter what he'd done, he deserved to live just as much as they did. She wasn't going to let it be ignored.
Now that her plans have worked out better than anyone could have expected...Jax has to grapple with the fact that he's conscious again. Not only that, but every horrible thing he's done is getting a second chance to eat at him.
All that's left for him is a group of people who care for him, and a lot of apologies that need to be made.

Summary

Summary
Most people didn't manifest the mark of their soulmate right away. Oh, sure, it happened – it had happened with Lucifer, before anyone had known what a soulmate even was, before anyone had realised such a thing was possible for angels – but it was pretty uncommon.
And it was absolutely possible for it to break – or fade. It was pretty unlikely on Earth, hardly ever happened during the span of a regular human life – but when the souls in question were immortal? Yeah, sometimes things changed. Relationships grew distant, love degraded. Once you'd experienced the bond fading – or worse, breaking? – no, most people were a little wary about throwing themselves into a new relationship.

Lucifer has experienced having a soulmate. Alastor has never been interested in the concept. Something is dreadfully wrong, because Lucifer is seeing shadows move out of the corner of his eye - and Alastor's claws are glowing golden.

“I think you’re willing to make a deal now, would I be correct?”
The sinner nodded his head frantically.
“Lovely. The terms are thus: you are going to give me your pathetic soul, and go out and—” Alastor chuckled. This was absolutely hilarious. He owed his darling Rosie for this later. “—spread the good word of our Lord and savior Lucifer. Be respectful of our King in all ways. Oh, and perhaps a public apology wouldn’t be too out of place. Of course, remember, if I find that you aren’t wholeheartedly abiding by the true intention of our deal, I’ll bring you right back here and give that smile of yours a little extra work-over. So, do we have a deal?”
My play on a more realistic version of how an 'Executioner Alastor' could come to be.
Feat: No deals between him and Lucifer, torturing of wayward sinners, a cursed duck child, a mounted TV, and attempts to make everything that Lucifer relies on center around him until he is so indispensable that Lucifer can't do anything to get rid of him.
