"Alright," Aventurine said to himself, flipping the coin into the air. "Heads I get drunk. Tails I walk into this… cat cafe?"
He caught the coin and turned to study the establishment. The sign read PenaKitty Dream Cafe, and was adorned with paw prints and cutesy writing. Two tabbies were sitting in the window, reclining against each other with their tails intertwined.
Aventurine looked at his coin. Tails.
Cat cafe it is.

Summary
He could still feel his stomach twisting with hunger, protesting how little he’d had to eat today. The feeling was uncomfortably reminiscent of the past- when starvation drove him to the brink, going days without food.
He needed a distraction.
“If I promise to call you when I’m having a bad time, will you return the favor?”
The memory echoed in his mind, something of a light in the darkness. Suddenly, he found himself desperately craving the presence of his boyfriend. Even if just over a call, Sunday’s smooth voice would be a wonderful distraction right now.
When Aventurine and Sunday both find themselves in need of comfort, they each remember the promise they made to call each other for comfort and help. Following through, they find it's not so bad going through tough times when you have someone else's voice to guide you through it.

The inside of the Astral Express is warm, cozy, done in a style he's heard was touted for its modernity an Aeon's lifetime ago. The entire crew is present: Dan Heng all the way in the back, March 7th, springing up from her seat beside Stelle, Mr. Welt, serving as a barrier between him and the younger members, and Ms. Himeko, taking a step forward to capture his attention.
“Mr. Sunday,” she says, diplomacy wrapped tightly around her voice. “Welcome aboard the Astral Express.”
“A pleasure,” he responds, fully intending to match her honeyed word for honeyed word. “I suppose this arrangement is your doing?”
“A joint effort,” she smiles. “As partial shareholders in Penacony, we've been working with both the Family and the IPC to ensure its smooth management. We've agreed to take you on.”Sunday is transferred into the Astral Express' custody. He assumes he's changing wardens. The crew is determined to be much more than just that.
