Summary
Over and over, Luke tossed and turned in his bed, hoping to drift off into a peaceful sleep eventually. It was dark in his room, with the exception of the moonlight slipping through the blinds. He let out a large sigh as he sat up from his bed, hoping to relieve the overwhelming tightness in his chest. It was a feeling he’s grown to become all too familiar with this past year. It felt as if the world were holding a death grip around his torso and squeezing him until he could no longer let out a breath.
Luke thought he would have it all figured out by this point. New city, new job, and new beginnings, a life completely different than what he knew before. A year later, he still feels stuck. Living in the same loop where he feels trapped in his own head with no direction. Something needs to change, and when his new neighbor moves in, his world starts to shape in different colors that he hasn't seen in a long time.

Luke looks up at him, mind going a million miles an hour, considering the proposition. This was fucking insane, he would be insane to agree to it. He could literally be murdered. By a fit-and-nice-but-possibly-a-murderer Australian man.
Luke sighs and shakes his head, but he can’t help but smile. “I don’t know anything about you, I don’t even know your name, why would I get in a car with you for the next three weeks?”
The man’s lips quirk up slowly, knowing Luke’s made up his mind.
“We’ve got time for all of that,” he says, grin growing wider. He reaches his hand down to Luke. “I’m Calum.”
Luke's just got to California, on a trip to get away from his life for a while. Calum might be there for the same reason. When a chance meeting pushes them together, Luke might get more out of the four-week road trip than he ever imagined.

I literally can’t cook for shit, I’ve never learnt how. My mum keeps saying that I’ll never amount to anything if I don’t learn (I have a job), so I’m trying but I’m still well, pretty shitty. Luke is a flight attendant who works for United Airlines. When Calum’s lucky, he’s a flight attendant on the flight Calum is on, to wherever his next hotel room turned conference room is located. He’s been lucky more often than not lately, because Luke has been on every flight that Calum has been on for the past eight weeks.
