By every available metric, Yang Jeongin is a well-adjusted adult.
He pays his rent early. He has a ten-step skincare routine. He calls his eomma weekly. He writes on his coworker's birthday cards. He has never once raised his voice in a meeting, even during the Hot Churn Summer of '25, where a fourth of their client list decided to all end their contracts in the same quarter, and the founder was grilling him for reasons beyond his control. He is, by broad and sincere consensus, one of the nicest people at the company, a genuine delight, sweet sweet Jeongin.
And then Kim Seungmin walks past his desk, and Jeongin has to quickly close the browser tab where he was researching how long a body takes to decompose in a server room.

“Wait,” Seungmin said slowly. “So when he said ‘Seungmin, I like you so much’...”
Felix’s eyes were wide now, like he was suddenly realizing what had happened. “You didn’t get it?!” He said in a strangled half-yell.
“No!” Seungmin exclaimed. “I thought it was just late, and we were both tired, and he was being his usual sappy self, and so I just said…” He trailed off, in mild shock. “I said ‘Of course I like you too, Jinnie. You’re my best friend in the whole world.’”

“We briefly met earlier.” Minho said, with a smile that could have guaranteed him the cover of a fashion magazine, making Seungmin feel like ice melting under the sun.
“Yeah.” Seungmin replied awkwardly. “I’m Seungmin.”
Great. As if Minho didn’t already know that, gosh he thought he was such a loser. Apparently all of Seungmin’s social skills had evaporated the second this man had walked into the building

Summary
“This is Seungmin,” Chan introduces warmly.
“Sure,” Minho says with minimal interest. “Is he any good?”
Seungmin has never really felt self-conscious about his body, but suddenly all he feels is the limp weight of his skinny legs and knobby knees as Minho gives him an unimpressed onceover.
“He’s good, Minho. Completely rounds out our midfield.”
Minho looks Seungmin in the eye for the first time, if only briefly.
“Great. You’ll have no problem not getting in the way.” Then he’s turning around, jogging back to the field like Seungmin is a speck with both everything and nothing to prove.
