Fear nestled up as that little seed slipped away from him, too—but he relaxed into it. He was unable to resist his exhaustion any longer, and he turned on his side to stare dully at the doorknob, waiting for it to rattle, until he couldn't keep his eyes open.
It happened quick. After all, he knew fear. Unlike the feeling of the bed beneath him—it was familiar.
