Summary
Xie Lian pushed up into a pirouette, guided by Feng Xin’s hands on his waist. When he stopped turning, gently lifting one leg into arabesque, he paused, catching sight of the very edge of the orchestra pit.
There was a man standing there, with black hair that glinted as it reflected the stage lights. His whole body radiated focus, as he played the violin balanced in between his neck and shoulder with pristine technique.
Later in the dance, Xie Lian caught another glimpse of him at the top of a partnered saut de chat, peeking down at the orchestra pit in his peripheral vision again.
This time, Xie Lian found another gaze meeting his.

Mu Qing pulled a tube of lipstick out of her dance bag and leaned in, towards the mirror. Feng Xin pretended to be very focused on her eyeshadow application as, out of the corner of her eye, she watched Mu Qing swipe the bright red paint across her lips, clean and even.
Mu Qing stood up with a little huff, and wandered over to one of the corners of the dressing room, moving into a deep lunge to begin her warmup. She glanced up, catching Feng Xin’s stare. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I’m not looking at you like anything,” Feng Xin said, turning away. Her hands shook slightly as she did her eyeliner.

He's not sure if it's because he's from Europe, where everyone greets each other with a hug and a kiss on the cheek, or if it's because he grew up so starved for love and affection that he can't do anything except show Shane how much he loves him at any chance that he has.
So, yes, he knows that he's the one most likely to kiss Shane on the cheek when he skates by him at practice or come up behind Shane when he's cooking dinner just to wrap his arms around him or fall on top of Shane while he's reading on the couch, desperate to have his skin touching Shane's.

“Shane?” Ilya asks again. “What happened?” His gloveless hand twitches and he lifts it a fraction of an inch towards Shane.
Shane tosses his own gloves to the ice and reaches forward, lacing their fingers together. “You took a bad hit,” he says, gritting his teeth against the fear clawing at his guts. “Flipped headfirst into the ice. Are you okay?”
Ilya groans in answer and squeezes his hand, though Shane can't tell if he meant to do that or not.
Suddenly, there are people all around them. Shane shifts protectively close before he realizes it’s the medical team.
“Hollander, get back to your bench,” someone says, but there’s no way Shane’s going. Even if he wanted to, Ilya’s gripping his hand like a lifeline, eyes finally locked on Shane’s face. Shane isn’t leaving him.
