Annabeth Chase knows the corridors of the University better than she knows her own reflection; stone and silence have always been her companions, ink and paper her confidants.
She does not expect to be startled in places so familiar.

Summary
The River Styx is flowing backward. The ceiling is leaking the Atlantic Ocean. Thanatos is hyperventilating.
Why? Because Annabeth Chase died, and Percy Jackson decided to make that everyone's problem.
Hades realizes he has two choices: Drown in salt water, or break the Ancient Laws and kick her soul back to the surface.
Or: The one where Hades becomes the biggest Percabeth shipper in existence, purely out of fear for his own safety.

Summary
In New Rome, love looks easy: lazy kisses on the grass and gentle touches without urgency. But for Annabeth Chase, loving someone has always meant keeping them alive, and that requires shouting, orders, and contingency plans.
Annabeth starts to believe that her trauma has made her too broken to be the girlfriend Percy deserves. It will take a reality check from Clarisse and a blue muffin to realize that maybe Percy doesn't need softness; maybe he is the only one who knows how to translate her language of war.
Or: Annabeth learns that protecting someone is a valid love language.
